Here is a mind blower. There are three main people in the first 15 seconds of this video. Two are Olympic Gold Medalists. Then you have Steph Curry.

I like watching all the weird things I'd never usually watched.

My son and I watched mountain biking this morning. Then handball tonight. Futsal looks sweet too.

Excellent race, very entertaining to watch. Amazing how the French woman won by nearly 3 minutes!

And if you didn't watch Bobby Witt tonight, I am sorry. The game winning grandslam and two incredible plays off the left field grass in the 9th were epic. Four more hits.

X Games 2024 Paris.

I'm not happy that the Olympics are no longer just amateur athletes competing, and there are events such as Break Dancing, Basketball 3x3, BMX Freestyle, Skateboarding, etc.
Those events are fine, I just don't feel they should be Olympic events.

was thinking about the bolded last night, and i think this is why i’m not at all invested in olympic basketball

those other sports you mention should be relegated to XGames

i’m also not a fan of equestrian events in the olympics

the horses don’t get medals, and they’re doing most of the work

Yea, this never seemed like a good idea from the beginning.
Switzerland is right next door - surely they have some rivers that are always clean.

Now I'm curious if the caddies get medals in golf.

Not because it's similar to horses, but because they absolutely help and are in some way a "team".

In the past caddies did not get medals.
Do you feel coaches should get medals in other sports? They don't.

You know who does get medals? Gymnasts who participate and finish in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, place.
Now that I know who won the team competition, I will find something else to watch on TV tonight.

Yes. I think coaches should probably get medals. At least for the team sports.

If there is an equation where medals=championship ring, coaches should get medals.

If not, they should not.

I’m torn with team sports, as the coach can absolutely matter in REAL time as a result of their decisions.

Same with caddies, although a player ultimately decides with what club and how to hit each shot.

In the end, every Olympic athlete has a coach. How do we differentiate their influence?
