I know this is your personal situation but please resist the urge to travel long distances. As tempting as it is to go see the Mrs please stay home both for your and your family's safety. Hopefully you'll have a lot more time in the comfort of your home, safe and healthy.
Yeah I’ve decided to stay home. Health and health of the family is far more important right now.

Thanks for the advice though.

Staying away from the virus brings an elevated level of anxiety with young kids around (or elderly parents)...I've never tried so hard to think thru every move I make when I leave the office.

And, it's not too bad where I'm located so far/yet...but I finally found a use for all my old nasty golf gloves...touching the pump while pumping gas! 😂

Pretty sure the real site only has 1 x, but don't judge me for knowing that.

Another small Mrs. NewtonHawk update..

We are 8 days away from her returning home. She's been completely healthy. Stayed completely sane, but so ready to be home.

Cases are reducing tremendously in the Detroit area. Nurses are no longer on mandated overtime. They are back to regular hours. They don't have floors and floors of Covid patients. Maybe they now have a floor or 2 of Covid patients. More and more recovering every day. She sees a difference just at the hospital she is located at right now, but other nursing friends who she met there are noticing it as well at their hospitals in the area.

And as she likes to remind everyone, the masks are to protect those around you, it doesn't do nearly as much to protect you. Wear masks in crowded gatherings and around the elderly. Don't go back to life as normal. Be cautious, be courteous and be kind. If someone wants to wear a mask, let them (Unless you go to a bank, that's kind of frowned upon)

Thanks for the reports Newton. Glad that it sounds like it is going well all things considered. Did you get to go up there?

I hung back. We decided the positives were outweighed by potential negatives. Health for me and those around me are far more important. I still get to see her visually every day through facetime and talk consistently through text messages. Being with her could wait a little bit more. But damn, it's been tough! Haha. Thankfully, the weather has been really nice to where we can get out and keep our mind off of things.

Can't fault you for that move. It's going to be a great day when she gets home. Until then I wish you nothing but birdies and eagles on the course.

I need it because I'll have one more free weekend before she's back and then things will get to be real again and the golf course will be an ancient memory. lol

Congrats, Newton. Glad she's still in one piece and almost done with this.

I wonder if you would indulge me one more time. There's a member of this board who believes healthcare professionals and funeral directors are inflating the number of Covid-19 cases as some sort of conspiracy to either make Trump look bad or as a way of bringing more money into the hospital.

Seems bizarre to me. I wonder what Mrs. Newton would have to say about this? Thanks.

Glad to hear your news, Newton. Was gonna say, do you have any special food you're planning on for her return? But I imagine just seeing her back home would make peanut butter and jelly seem special.

Teryiaki chicken thighs on the grill is one of her favorites. So next weekend, that will likely be on the menu!

Proper etiquette question.
You're on a "Zoom" conference with 11 other work colleagues.
You are in the middle of an important conversation in which you are an integral part.
All of a sudden you have to take a dump. It's bad.
You really have no choice but to excuse yourself. You say, "excuse me" and you leave the conversation to go take your dump.
You come back and someone asks, "where did you go"? You ignore their question. They ask again and everyone is silent. You respond, "I had to go deal with something"
The person is agitated and says, "In the middle of our discussion, what was so important that you had to take care of"?
Is it wrong to say - "I had to take a shit. OK? Are you happy now that I told you"?

lol

Yeah, if they really pushed to know what I just did, I would just own it and tell them I had to drop the Cosby children off at soccer practice.
