In terms of what things looked like 12-18 hours ago ( down 9 with 2 minutes ) to winning PA ( Chalmers sinking the 3 with Memphis stars fouled out ).

I still think that was fueled by the Trumpers.

If we are comparing the election to a basketball game, then yes, Biden certainly was trailing at one point.
To make the analogy to say he wasn't, then you are also assuming that Kansas had already won versus Memphis, since that was the result in the end, and that fate had pre-determined the result.

Pardon my Ousdahlian desire to want to find a precedent for everything...but has a presidential candidate ever used that type of language before? That they "claim" a state? Don't the candidates wait until it's been decided?

Ya. Even CNN was in total panic mode. Saying things like "there is still a path for Biden". It was not looking good around 2-3am.

They are right in saying Arizona should not have been called that early.
Biden has almost a 100k lead - and the guess is there are 450,000 votes not counted.
Trump would need to win around 70% of those remaining votes.

We should know more around 9 PM.

If, at 9 PM, ABC and CNN calls Zona, what is your next move Lobster?
All you'd have left is Nevada.

CNN started spazzing out at 5 pm.

Unfortunately that's all it would take - and it's far from a sure thing for either guy right now.
I admit I was a pussy last night who (stupidly?) thought Biden was doomed and I admit I am a pussy tonight who is worried Nevada might end up going to Trump. Which of course would be brutal.

Like a lot of us (me included!), as soon as votes started coming in they forgot all about the "it's going to look overly good for Biden out of the gate" message they'd been repeating all week.
