the more i scrub on the internet, the more likely it is beginning to seem like we end up in the aac.
I think KU will have to strike out on a TON of other potential options before that happens.
Strike out on about 4 conferences.

no matter what the future holds, KU basketball will continue to be great. KU football will continue to be rotten.
Wanna place a wager on that?

The Kansas athletic dept. earns more revenue than Illinois, Maryland and Rutgers and is within $10M if Indiana and Minnesota despite being in a conference that pays out $20M less per year in revenue sharing
we good

My guess is the B1G is acting uninterested in KU as a negotiation tactic to make us take a crappier deal, at least initially when we enter the conference, you know, since they'll be doing us this big favor.
I'm not sure Neb/Rutgers/or MD are getting a full revenue share yet or not, but I think they got dicked over for quite a while after joining.

I was sort of surprised Maryland and Rutgers were ranked that highly tbh.

UNL is, and I believe the others are, too.
But, yes, they were stair-stepped to full shares.

imo, the BIG is a prestigious conny, but it knows it. It acts sorta like a closely-held corp. board administratively. Very conscious of its image, likes some deference, and can get offended and informally punitive, among other things.
They'd want to "beat us in", I'll bet.
Oh, well...
Without question it would be a large, LARGE upgrade from where we are.
Large, I say

I hope you are right. The B1G should boot Rutgers and add KU, Kstate and Istate. I mean, really, how many TVs are on in Jersey when Rutgers is playing?

LOL there is no way KState is getting into the Big10.
Rutgers academics are vastly superior to KState and their revenue in also superior to KState.

A lot coming out now that says the B1G isn't interested in expanding right now. I would rather KU stay in a new Big XII (after poaching some schools to get membership up to 12 or 14) than end up in the AAC or the MWC. My order of preference:
1.) B1G
2.) PAC
3.) Big XII
4.) ACC
5.) MWC
6.) AAC
Wildcard: some combination of the Big East for basketball and AAC or MWC for most everything else.

Is "the new Big 12" still in play?

If it is, wouldn't it land between 4 and 5 on InfiniteJ's list of options? A broken down big12 trying to add a couple schools has still gotta be better than the MWC, right?

Ah, I only read your evens, you haven't earned my attention on the odds.
Until now.

Well if the big12 doesn't dissolve then it's a dead issue until 2025 right? Because no way we pay those insane penalties and let UT and OU off the hook?

saw it on his list. that's why I asked.
thought a handful of schools declined to verbally commit to a renewed GOR. like, last nite, or today
including KU. maybe that was a "we'll think about it"
