at this moment in time gonzaga looks like the best team in the country.

we don't have to concern ourselves with them until march 2022 at the earliest.

fine by me.

Their bigs gotta deal with us too
There is a reason team's don't play 5 guards. Regardless of what beaverfever has told you, size matters.
What about what Bill Self has told us?

A big part of the reason teams don’t play 5 guards is cuz not many teams have a 6’8” guard who happens to be an elite rebounder and also the fastest guy with the ball in the open court

And?

If you can't admit to yourself that the Zags have an elite front court that is superior to ours and that it'd be easier for them to deal with DMac/Mitch and Jalen that it would be for us to deal with Timme and Chet then there isn't much to discuss. We can just agree to disagree.

Odds are we won't play them this season. And if we do it'll be with all the chips on the table.

Yea, I can’t admit that to myself.

Cuz imma be a KU fanboy on the KU fanboy bored, rather than fluff some other team.

How’d the zags do against Baylor’s small ball frontcourt?

And - if we DID play them, it’s likely as them as the overall 1 seed, maybe even undefeated again, and we’ll be among the last 1 seeds, like 3-4 overall.

That’s the types of games they’ve historically come out playing not to loose, and we’ve come out playing with a chip.

You can be a KU fanboy and still be realistic about how good Timme is as a college player.

We have elite guards and wings. Which is why it appears you have convinced yourself that playing a player like Jalen at the 5 is a net gain against a front court like Timme/Chet. It isn't. Could it work in a 1 game scenario or for portions of 1 game? Of course.

As far as Baylor last year, we've done this before. Last season they played Vital who is 6'5 but weighs 250+ and is a load, Mayer 6'9, Thamba 6'10, JTT 6'8, and had a 7fter on the bench who barely got minutes. Baylor playing great in a 1 game scenario against a different Zags team last year really proves nothing. If they played a 5 game series it's very possible that Zags win 3-2, but that's not how we do things in NCAAB.

Rare agreement with you. I get why people find him annoying but he gets some hate that seems weird as hell. Dude has like one passion in the world and it's college basketball. The sport will be worse off when he's gone.

Of course we are.

OK zags too.

Dunno much on Purdue but just looked up and saw they beat 2 ranked teams in UNC and Nova.

Duke hasn’t done anything except bear a meh UK team, but they could make a splash against the zags Friday

Anyone else?

More than anything else that’s got me down, is the lack of good action on the boreds.

This ain’t the off-season. It’s holiday tournament week you guys! And hardly anyone brings any good content or discussion any more. I’m trying, Ringo.

All I did here was post and comment on a tweet about how KU is among the title contenders so far this year.

If you think that’s blubberyapping, you prob need to take it to the not on the hoops bored thread.

Watching Memphis and VA Tech. Larry Brown is on the Memphis sideline.

You think Cal, K and Self are shady crooters?

That sideline laps those dudes.

Shady or not, as long as we are still under our taking forever NCAA "investigation" and decision/s, I wish we had LB and Sheed Wallace on our staff. Toppert probably wouldn't hurt either.
Clueless me didn't know that Brown had Forrest on his staff at SMU.
