Embiid. Just because he will be HoF and a recruiting draw and most of us realized it at the time except for Illy. He did turn into the best version of himself at KU.

I remember academics playing a role, but I just assumed that stuff was announced after the season/semester.

This. There is plenty of wall space inside AFH to celebrate the brief Kansas career of Joel Embiid. He accomplished nothing ina Kansas uniform that warrants putting his jersey in the rafters. Kansas has enough famous former players that it doesn't need to do that just for publicity.

I don't think it's a very complicated issue.

Embiid doesn't need to be up there for us to use him as a recruiting tool. Much more to the point, putting him up there would have big "spray paint a banner for NCAA appearances" energy.

I think the criteria are about right, and in fact none of them - not a single one - would prohibit putting a one-and-done up.

Agreed. If Wiggins would have won Big 12 PoY over Ejim (like he probably should have) then he would be in line to get up there as well.

I must have been at the game because I specifically recall Self acknowledging Cole's award before Sherron's senior night stuff and Cole wiping away tears--didn't get a speech, of course.

Of course it is up to Bill, but I think that is a reach and Bill no longer has to get creative to get a bunch of his guys up there.

Of course it is up to Bill, but I think that is a reach and Bill no longer has to get creative to get a bunch of his guys up there.

Garrett would have probably been line-fudged into the rafters if we'd made the Final Four or something last year.
