I am going to go back to last night and start keeping score on this thread of how/why America failed and is failing - kansascrimson.com style.
So far - and I expect the rest of today to provide some more fine examples....
1. Jeeper feels that the folks who profess to live by Christianity are some of the most untrustworthy people he knows - and he knows that if you seriously can accept that fairy tale, just about anything can be pushed into the soft spots in your head.
* I don't necessarily disagree with the second part. I have been saying it for many years - in regards to most (if not all) religion/s and their devout followers.
America, where the dumbfucks (and even some smartfucks) are so easily manipulated by things that are not proven and are not true.
2. JK drinks Diet Mt. Dew, and engery drinks, and alcoholism runs in his family.
* Dew, energy drinks, and alcoholism, If that's not America, what is?
3. There are a million and one things pdub can rightfully give JK shit about - I guess including his drinking Diet Mt Dew. I'm waiting for DC to chime in about JK's choice of shoes.
* America, where we prefer to find negatives and ridicule our fellow Americans for anything and everything - than find positives and praise them.
4. Gutter's post right now.
* America, where we are are obsessed with "social media" and feeling the need to participate to be seen and heard - and 95% of the time it is worthless shit that we are sharing.
If you were 55 and raising a two year-old, you might hit the energy drinks pretty hard, too. Jussayin'.

I’m more partial to Monster, but I’ll drink DMD in a pinch.
On brand.
Sorry I'm not a Bud Light guy like yourself.
I haven't had a Bud Light in years.
I did have a Miller High Life this weekend though.

One of the biggest ways in which “America failed” is the way this dood is such an obvious crook, so many pending legal cases against him, INCLUDING DECIDED LEGAL CONVICTIONS, and it doesn’t even matter.
I dunno if anyone else could get 34 felonies handed down and not get marched outta the courtroom in handcuffs.
And all the other stuff - J6, Goergia election interference, what else - that the system had four fucking years to act on and just kinda…bullshitted around instead?

Guttter's 5 reasons/examples why America failed 11/12/24 version....
1. Our legal system is one of the best in the world - and it sucks.
2. Our election system is one of the best in the world - and it sucks.
3. People allow themselves to be influenced by things that are not true and don't allow themselves to be influenced by things that are true - and it sucks.
4. People rightfully bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch but do little to actually try and fix what is broken - and it sucks.
5. JK likes to do the Dew and unleash the beast (insert eye roll here) - and it sucks.

I'm as frustrated as you are, and there is no doubt whatsoever that Garland could have moved faster.
That said, the Supreme Court has been comprised exactly as it is for the entire Biden administration. And a Supreme Court that declares a President to be conditionally* above the law wasn't ever going to hold him accountable.**
* The condition is, "if we are ideologically aligned with you."
** I will, once again, just scream into the void that our Constitution provides exactly for the scenario where an oathbreaker maintains such a cultural grip on the people that he is capable of reelection. This is like the twin towers having anti-aircraft missiles, just in case a fuel-laden hijacked airliner is turned into a guided missile. And the people at the controls of the missiles just said, "nah fam."

Or is that beneath your manhood as a tough man who hates 'skanks and fatties' ( i.e. women with a backbone ).

I think if it was Obama or Hillary who perped J6, they would have been escorted away in cuffs no later than 12:01pm on January 20.
Didn’t the Supreme Court ruling come AFTER the felony verdicts?
And Garland (and the rest of the system at large) had four fucking years. So many other sentences were handed down in the wake of J6 among other proceedings, and yet…
(And this will be a majority unpopular view here, but, the fact a dood like that could still stomp his opponent on Election Day is largely a testament to what useless loosers Dems are)

I just think you're looking at the wrong timeline - I think it is clear that this Supreme Court was not at any time going to hold Trump actually accountable for anything.
McConnell stealing the seat vacated by Scalia's death (which occurred barely more than 3/4 of the way through Obama's second term) should have been regarded as a five alarm fire. It was treated like a teenager played a prank on an overnight school trip.
By no means was it
the turning point. But it was a point of inflection, for sure. It presaged everything that would follow, in terms of the hollowing out of the rule of law.
(I would take a little bit of heart though, on the "stomped" comment. He cruised in the electoral college. But his margin of popular vote victory is going to be ~1%, and the downballot results - particularly where people were voting on issues and not on people - support more hopeful conclusions.)

so was the state of NY waiting on the Supreme Court? The convictions came in May, yet the scotus ruling came in July. and, sure, a stacked scotus doesn't wanna touch their guy, but I guess I don't understand why a state would wait around in anticipation of that.
yea, McConnell's a fucking snake. My dad always rants about how RBG screwed up the court by refusing to retire, but I think the much more egregious matter is McConnell pouncing on RBG's death as an opportunity to make a complete about-face on the whole "let the American voters decide who confirms a justice in an election year" bullshit.
re: take heart to "stomped," yea, there is the whole thing about how so many swing states were still decided by like 2% or less, I think.
re: "voting on issues and not on people," like 10 states had voter questions on abortion, and 7 of them passed. Even otherwise-red states like Missouri and Alaska passed paid sick leave and raises to minimum wage. Maybe that could have been an opportunity for Kamala, but I'm afraid she gave little more to it than hollow lip service, and voters saw through it.

I think you're extremely angry and feeling helpless about the election outcome. I think it makes you feel better to cast aspersions on the people you feel are responsible for how you're feeling and it makes you feel more powerful to call me names and disparage me.
I'm just letting you know that, if it makes you feel better, that's fine; however, it doesn't hurt or bother me at all.
Hope you day gets better. Seems like you have a pretty great life, regardless of who is in the White House.
