Just fine until it was leaked at the last minute by the Russians that the DNC had no interest in Sanders being the nominee and his supporters sat out the election.

So hopefully that won't happen again.

To answer your question, for me - NO. I would hope no one would come away from last night saying - "Hey, Trump was awesome. He gets my previously undecided vote".

I agree with you 100% that last night was "gross". It made me dislike Trump even more. Problem is I feel MANY Americans will come away from last night thinking Trump "won" the debate. Let's hope none of those people were undecided nor were previously going to vote for Biden before the debate.

Trump won exactly what he set out to win last night. He played Donald Trump to a T/tee. He may not have gained any votes last night but I surely don't think he lost any votes of people who have already decided they were going to vote for him. Heck, I bet there were people holding their guns in one hand and their dicks in their other with shit eating grins on their faces every time Donald opened his mouth.

The lesser of two evils is hardly bullshit. Do YOU (or anyone else on here) really believe Donald Trump was a better candidate that Hillary Clinton? Then why did he win?
To me, Biden is BY FAR the lesser of two evils but I'm sorry, I have seen him clearly deteriorate (physically and mentally) the past 3 years while doing basically nothing. I'm supposed to feel confident he's going to be ok let's say 3 years from now?

The only comparison is both men are running for the same office - and neither one inspire me. At all.

I'm not defending Trump and I sincerely believe he enjoys the fact that there are many asshole white supremacists who support him but last night did nothing to convince ME that any "educated" people feel Trump is any worse of a person than he was before the debate last night.

And, more broadly, the media succumbed to both-sidesing everything and treated Hillary's emails as equivalent to everything about Trump that was obviously disqualifying at the time, and has only been confirmed to be even worse than we knew at the time.

But I'm over fretting about who Biden isn't. Who he is, is a vessel. And he can be filled up with enough things to defeat Trump. That's enough for me.

Oh god, having a black woman who is tough on crime up there with Trump would've been awesome. Having Mother's husband up there is something, but would not nearly being as good.

Just need a kill switch, and a timer, and I think next two will be passable. Trump blabbing up there, and Biden doing his best to remember 90 seconds of talking points.

In the olden days, one mic, and the candidates have to pass to each other, so only one could talk at a time.

In non-COVID times, Trump steal that mic, goes to a corner, and hides while screaming into it.

Today, 2 minute time, one line open, then 90 seconds of rebuttal where both mics are open (no moderator interruption), and closes sharply after 90 seconds. Moderator then moves on.

All they have to do is mute the mic of the other person while the other is talking.

The first 45 minutes were funny as hell. The next 45 was as sad as it gets.

It’s unbelievable that one of those two is going to be our next president.

Also, how embarrassing that the CPD has to step in because one candidate literally cannot abide by even the most basic decorum.

Let Trump keep interrupting I say. It shows exactly who he is.
