I am not sure i qualify as a Republican, but compared to some on this board I'm probably on the more right end of the center spectrum....
I do not support Donald Trump. I don't think he's a piece of shit human/disgrace, but thats probably simply a personal threshold. I do think he has said some disgraceful things. I do not think he's inspiring as a president. I do not think he's very smart on most matters his job requires. I do not think he's good at listening to others.
I registered as a dem in the IL primary so that I could vote for Biden. Not because I like Biden, because I don't, and that continues to decline with every passing day...but I liked him more than Bernie (only 2 real candidates left at time of IL primary)...and i like him more than Trump.
I hope we get 4 years of Biden and in those 4 years some real potential leaders of our country begin to emerge. I like Amy Klobuchar quite a bit, so hopefully she's more viable on a national scale by then. I also hope some reasonable and intelligent republican candidates emerge.

While sometimes it's most effective in the context of a discussion to just post a tweet, I agree that it can clutter up the threads sometimes.
but that's interesting that you make a difference between the medium itself, and the content usually communicated by the medium.
if Trump does get reelected, it'll be cuz some critical mass of otherwise decent enough TDub types saw no need to for Trump to be called out for his shit.

The issue is that you automatically assume that the person whose Tweet you are sharing has any more credibility than anyone else. Sometimes the Tweets posted here are helpful, but most are just run-of-the-mill left-wing shills or ones from the POTUS that have made your heads explode for the moment, which is accomplishing exactly what he intended.

Its not that I think Trump shouldnt be called out. Its that I dont need a tweet to "prove it" to me. As I said before, if i wanted to sort through a menagerie of tweets I would sign up for twitter.

I agree 100% that it "clutters" up threads.
When I am at work, my employer allows us to access this site but blocks Twitter, Instagram, etc.
I go through threads and when let's say Feral posts something from Instagram, I am unable to see it so I have no way of knowing what she posted and what people are responding to.
Perhaps going forwards it might be best if I just copy and paste what was said in a tweet.

I try to post tweets that are mostly straight from the horse's brain to their keyboard/phone and not necessarily so many that are secondary opinions on what someone else has tweeted.
Things that I find worthy of sharing with others but maybe I should realize if people really gave a damn, they would find and view the tweets on their own.
