speaking of Nikki Haley...
isn't she supposed to be like the "moderate" or sane candidate or whatever?
Cuz, I mean, that sorta langauge is straight outta Mortal Kombat.
Haley's already running to be the nominee in 2028.
Watching her and the other craven Republican wannabes attempt to attract Trump's cult while not alienating the other ~ 60% of the electorate is going to get very, very old over the next 4 years.

Is she? Or is she making a play to be slotted in in the case Trump is off the board?

Good point.
I always assumed that was the main reason why she stayed in the primary race as long as she did, and since they're not mutually exclusive, yes, that too.
Although that being said, I think she'd have a hell of a fight on her hands, because the MAGA cult doesn't really like her much.

No, it doesn't. But tucking her tail between her legs and begging for approval is an important step.

Wait…so does a political stunt like “finish them” do more to attract Trump’s cult, or to not (or to) alienate the other 60% of the electorate?

The stuff upper lip bravado - the notion that somehow Trump gained more votes than he lost yesterday - is really something.

It's hard to know how much it will hurt him,
Teflon Don, but I would bet it will. And, I seriously doubt that anyone who is more likely to vote for Trump due to his conviction(s), wasn't going to, already.

Same. I guess it could increase their liklihood of actually showing up to vote. Voter turnout is such a fickle thing.

I don't think you're going to see big, flashy thinkpieces over it, but I think there will be a meaningful portion of his base that simply sits out (or logs protest votes). I think that portion will significantly outweigh any bump in R turnout.

Proving once again that The Family Values and Law and Order Party stands for none of that.

He is an adjudged sexual abuser.
He is an adjudged defamer.
He is an adjudged fraud.
He is a convicted felon, for election-related crimes.
He stands credibly accused of crimes against the Constitution and the national defense.
And he'll get 40% of the popular vote.
