That's awesome. IL may get there someday, but not sure.

So, a question for any of the posters taking advantage of the state law changes. Have any of you searched/changed jobs since the laws have changed in your state? Are companies still testing for marijuana for new hires? I imagine a lot more people are smoking whether medical or rec related and curious how it is impacting employment. Did companies give up on drug tests completely or just remove weed from the tests?

Yeah, heard they been relaxing standards, depending on the company.
Weed stays in your system longer than most drugs, despite being more low risk than most drugs too. But as long as you’re not so noticeably high you can’t function at work then who cares
also these Michigan edibles are not to be fucked with, munched a couple right before I cooked my folks a perfectly tasty frozen pizza and halfway thru dinner FOCK
also Bell’s two hearted ale it’s delicious

Pre-employment screening for what? Specifically marijuana? Or "drugs"?
It's true of many jobs - that "people’s lives or a bunch of money are on the line we fuck fuck shit up" and yet I know of some employers who are more than just fine if their employees consume large amounts of alcohol on a frequent basis (and being completely hungover at work?) and actually encourage their employees to get drunk at times.

Nice thing about working in tech is never needing a drug test

I live in Nebraska, where we are apparently trying to be the last state in the nation to change any marijuana laws.

When you put it that broadly, that encompasses a ton of jobs, including office jobs. Most all of which shouldn't require pre-employment THC screening.

the broadness was intentional in order to maintain some anonymity
edit: i completely understand why both of our jobs would require it

drugs, including marijuana
and yes, i agree with your sentiment. there are much more harmful “recreational” vices
most of the “stoners” i know are highly productive people, many with PhDs, that are so far from the propaganda stereotype

Not sure if already posted, but Amazon announced this afternoon it is ditching MJ screening for non-DOT positions and is lobbying the federal government for decriminalization and conviction expungement.

Point may have been better made with a regular joint instead of a massive blunt. But I like the idea in general.

"Small clinical trials that have shown that one or two doses of psilocybin, given in a therapeutic setting, can make dramatic and long-lasting changes in people suffering from treatment-resistant major depressive disorder, which typically does not respond to traditional antidepressants."
If this was allowed in my state then I would 100% participate.

not to go full dead head, but I think we've only begun to tap the potential of psychedelics.
I think the key is to dial in the "therapeutic setting," or otherwise bring some legitimacy to it, rather than maintain it as some illicit thing in the dark star thread.
