Ways to make the playoffs:
Go undefeated in a P5 conference.
Start the season in the top 5.... ie if Baylor wins out they won't make the playoffs, whereas if OU wins out, they will make it.

Mike Leach to Ole Miss.
Mizzou is going to have a hard time finding a replacement.

Chris Peterson stepping down from Washington after the bowl game.
Another big program losing a coach.
Have Ole Miss, Washington, Missouri, Boston College and South Florida to name a few.

Didn’t see Peterson at UW stepping down. Very interesting.
Depending on how things shake out you could potentially being add SC and Texas to the list

If OSU beats Wisconsin, LSU beats Georgia, Clemson beats Virginia, Baylor beats OU, and Oregon beats Utah, who do you think gets the 4th spot? I would have to guess Baylor.
On another note, assuming OSU beats Wisconsin, who does the Rose Bowl take from the Big 10? Wisconsin or Penn State? A lot of people think Penn State. I'm not one of them.

Best weekend of college football of the year.
Great one tonight.
Have zero feel for what I feel the outcome will be. I do think Utah beats Oregon 6 or 7 times out of 10 on a neutral field. When I started typing this I was feeling Oregon wins by 3. Now all of a sudden I am thinking Utah wins by 7.
Utah 37 Oregon 30
Other games this weekend.....
Baylor 30 Oklahoma 40
Lousiana 20 Appy State 37
Cinci 24 Memphis 34
Georgia 24 LSU 31
Hawaii 23 BSU 37
Virginia 20 Clemson 37
Ohio State 33 Wisconsin 27

I took Utah -6 and Over 46.5.
Think they're a great team and they can score, but Oregon can as well. But can easily see a 10 point win.
I do think the OU/Baylor game is going to be really freaking fun to watch. Two great teams. And in my eyes, winner should go to CFP. Think Baylor squeaks it out and wins by 4.
Clemson still a 4 TD favorite over Virginia. That's a huge spread for a conference championship game. And they still could very well cover.
Ohio State beats Wisconsin by 20.
LSU beats Georgia by 24.

I was dead wrong on Utah. 0-1. Don't care who the Ducks play in the Rose Bowl, I will be rooting for them.

Going to be watching Georgia vs Lsu for sure. Georgia's defense has been crazy good and will get tested against LSU's offense. Georgia's Oline is huge and could go ground and pound. Georgia's Dline giving up nada in the run game. So we shall see how good Burrow is.

OU and Baylor can go ahead and beat each other's brains out, as far as I'm concerned.

Georgia pretty banged up with some injuries. LSU should throw all over them. LSU most complete team in my eyes. Both on offense and defense. They’re so good. I Think whoever wins Big12 is in because LSU is beating Georgia.

Listening to Herbstreet say something like, "the playoff should have the best teams playing, not the conference champions." Amazing how you can come to idea that champions are not the best. Talking heads are pissed that Alabama won't have a shot at winning the NC.

Thought OU was best Big 12 team all year. One loss to an above average kstate team on the road. Georgia’s one loss to bad South Carolina team in Athens.
OU will get the nod if (when) Georgia loses today.

If Herbstreit truly said what you claim he said, then I happen to agree.
The playoff should be the 4 best teams - and not necessarily the conference champs.
Sometimes the conference champs are possibly/probably not the 4 best teams in college football.
As far as taking heads being pissed, unless they are Bama fans, then why would they care who has a chance to win a NC - as long as it's the 4 best teams playing for it?

Here is a crazy question. While highly doubtful it will happen, if LSU and Ohio State both lose, are they both out, is one out, or are neither out?
