do I think FSU is better than Bama or Georgia? no.
did they earn their shot? absolutely.
Its a bad precedent thay says wins dont matter, losses don't matter, only the eye test matters.
Might as well go back to picking the champion BCS poll style.
This is a massive exaggeration, though. It’s not that results don’t matter—it’s that there are other factors that matter as well. Bama, UGA, and Texas are all 12-1 with their only losses coming against really good teams. FSU played a softer schedule and are a much worse team today than they were a few weeks ago.
Rank everyone by record alone if that’s what you want, but that’s just not the system that exists.
So, no matter what an ACC team can't advance by being undefeated then?
Because, other than Texas (which they lost) Alabama had the an incredibly weak out of conference schedule.
Georgia's out of conference schedule was downright pathetic. They weren't gonna get held out

FSU has a month to get their second string QB healthy and up to speed.

Fantastic. They earned the right to play Georgia - in the Orange Bowl.
If every starter for Georgia played, Georgia would probably beat the living crap out of them in the Orange Bowl 8 times out of 10.

terrific
Georgia lost
fsu didn't
fsu got screwed, There's a reason an undefeated P5 team has never been held out of the playoffs before.
its gonna create a shitstorm. And it should.

also...Bama needed an absolute miracle to beat Auburn.
why didn't they get punished for that? they looked pretty damn weak there against an inferior opponent. FSU just beat a ranked team with their 3rd string QB.
So...how do you tell FSU they shouldve done more?

The ACC has had a berth in 7 of the 10 CFPs that have happened. The conference you play in matters, as does your non-con schedule, but it’s not like they’ve consistently been shut out.
An exception was made this year, due to a historically unique number of qualified teams and extenuating circumstances. It’s not that big of a deal.

Ohio State should be pissed at the big 10 too....they were the 2nd best (and most deserving) team in the conference, and bc of the way their conference is set up, didn't even get a chance at redemption with a better record (overall and conference) than Iowa.

remember when FSU creamed then #5 LSU?
but nah, their schedule sucks, glory to the almighty SEC!
and you're wrong, it is a big deal. It's a huge deal. Maybe not to you or me personally...but for the sport it's a historic snub.

Yeah, Bama needed a "miracle" to beat Auburn but they got the miracle and won. Right?
They just beat the best team in the country. Did they not?
Most teams play close games.
7 of Washington's games were won by 8 points or less.
Going back to Bama's close game against Auburn.....
FSU basically needed a late Boston College fumble to beat Boston College.
FSU needed overtime to beat Clemson.
FSU basically needed a late INT by Miami to beat Miami.

FSU had to scrap with QB issues and still beat #16 last night.
winning should matter. Losing should matter. Win them all and you should have a shot at winning it all. period.

Yes, FSU won those games and they should get credit for it. Absolutely every win should matter no matter if it was close or not.
I happen to agree with most of your arguments why FSU deserved to be in. I truly feel they got screwed but I'm not sure who should have been left out between Texas and Bama.
I find it astonishing that a team that was ranked #4 in the CFP last week - and won their conference championship game - got left out but two teams that were #7 and #8 in the CFP last week got in.

no
is liberty in a P5 conference?
Liberty has the last rated SOS in the country.
don't be obstinate just for the sake of it. its ill fitting.

Not too sure why there is a delay in the Bowl announcements and why everything needs to be hush hush.
"New Years games" are supposed to be announced at 1:30pm Central time. Probably won't hear about KU right away.
Here is a crazy question. If Kansas was given a choice between Guaranteed Rate Bowl, the Texas Bowl, the Armed Forces Bowl, The Pop Tarts Bowl, or Independence Bowl, which would/should they choose?
