Dumb analogy.
Didn't know basketballs could kill 18 people within minutes.

"get better" only one shot kills allowed is dumb too. So I countered dumb with dumb.

No dude.
Yours is just way way more dumb.
Just so much way more.
Hopefully you know that deep down and are just being antagonistic because you feel like i'm not allowed to speak about hunting since i'm not a hunter.

I would be 100% on board with banning all guns inside city limits for cities over...say 30k? I'm good with that. People in Seattle and Chicago and Reno and Charlotte don't need guns. Nothing to hunt there but humans.
hell I'd even go to 25k, maybe 20k.

I feel like you aren't allowed to speak in absolutes when you don't know what you're talking about. I'm on board with most of your proposal, as I said.
This is where things get off track in this argument everytime though. No compromise that will allow actual progress...

I am allowed to speak in absolutes when someone complains that hunting will be more difficult so we shouldn't do as much as we can to prevent mass shootings.
I understand it will be more difficult to kill an animal and that some animals may end up suffering more when hunted in this scenario. I understand that. Next?

You can't just say, 'you don't get it' when your argument is, it will be more difficult to kill animals, there are regulations that would prevent us from hunting effectively and that some animals will suffer more, when I have addressed all of those things.

again, this is why nothing happens. No one will compromise to make actual progress toward better/more effective laws.

Likely very few because people have access to semi auto rifles with large capacity.
I'm just pushing this to the level where i'm giving humans even more of a chance ( because of the timing of firing and max amount of bullets per minute etc ) if someone still decided, with regulations, to commit an act of violence like this while also giving hunter culture tools to continue doing what they do.

I'm sorry but it just sounds like you are currently just making sure that your gun lifestyle doesnt change ( in this very hypothetical won't ever happen because people value guns over lives so fuck those type of people ).

i don’t think you’re going to foster compromise when you’re seemingly valuing the ease of hunters over people’s lives
i know that’s not your intent

The problem is cruel narcissists and it is getting worse. Intoxicated with the power of life and death. Alienation and a sense of grievance. Life is what you put into it, not blind allegiance to oneself or cause. Given the scope of the problem, drastic action is required. Just so many ticking time bombs out there who were jilted or maligned. And so much ammunition. But we need to start taking this seriously

I think there is a LOT of nuance to what to do here. I don’t think there is ANY nuance as to whether ordinary Joes and Janes should be allowed to have assault rifles.
For the love of god, start there.

And I’ll add, as I always do, that very much a MARKET-BASED approach (yay capitalism) to improving things would be to require mandatory liability insurance on every gun.

Dude rumored to own a boat and sea-doo, both apparently missing.
Car was found near the Androscoggin river but man, that'd be difficult to navigate at night.
Everything completely on lock down. I imagine they'd do the same thing tomorrow if they don't get any more intel on where he is.
