Yup. s/he dead.
And, to atone for my earlier posts:
Thoughts and prayers to victims, and their families.
Maybe next time vote blue?

The shooter, also, had a family. I assume that at least some portion of that family loved him/her. Certainly at least some portion of that family did not want the shooter dead, along with other people dead/wounded/traumatized.
I have no way of even guessing at whether the shooter would have taken his/her own life without a gun. I do know that the shooter would not be dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound (I am assuming here) if the shooter did not have a gun.

I heard it's not the guns.
Thoughts and prayers to the perp's family and friends, too.

When you consider how many times, including today in the senate, republicans have blocked attempts to do anything about guns being available to nearly anyone who wants one, it's only fair we acknowlede their tireless efforts. Don't you think?

K-12 School Shooting Database
@K12ssdb
UNLV shooting update: Shooter had hitlist of specific faculty, 150 rounds of 9mm ammo, and was actively searching the campus for his targets for 10 minutes before police found him.
Former students reported he was obsessed with Las Vegas and would lecture extensively about experiences in Vegas that were unrelated to class topics.
In a 15-page document he published online, the shooter claimed to have cracked the Zodiac Killer's messages and cited being a member of MENSA for 35 years. He also claimed to know the crash location of the missing Malaysia airlines flight which he declared was hijacked by terrorists. His website linked to far-right and antisemitic conspiracy theories Alex Jones and his YouTube account was subscribed to far-right conspiracy content.
He also mailed 22 letters to university faculty members across the U.S., some contained white powder that was tested and found to be harmless.

Sick to my stomach in advance over the soon-to-come* bad faith right wing bleating about how assault rifle bans wouldn't have saved these people.
* I perhaps should instead say "soon-for-Fish-to-see," as I'm certain this is already out there.

Fish, if that makes you sick to your stomach, don't watch the
"victim impact statement" video in the first link below. It's one of the survivors of a shooting two years ago at Oxford High School, in Oxford, Michigan. There have been so many mass shootings I couldn't recall this one in particular, but the perp was a 15 y/o boy with mental health issues known to his parent's, who bought him a gun, anyway. The parents have been charged with manslaughter, and are awaiting trial.
I guess because he's to be sentenced today, they let any of the victims or relatives of the deceased who wanted to, make a "witness impact statement", before the judge imposes his sentence.
I doubt I'll ever hear the word
"carpet" the same way, ever again.
Kylie Ossege, a teen who was shot at Oxford High School, gave an emotional victim impact statement during the sentencing for the shooter, on Friday. She detailed what she remembered from the shooting, and being next to her friend, Hana St. Juliana, who died in the shooting.
Kylie Ossege, victim in Oxford High School shooting, speaks at sentencing
Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley to be sentenced in Michigan.
Crumbley was 15 when he fatally shot four schoolmates on Nov. 30, 2021

Not mass but two blocks from my home last night. You may not be able to view the videos. If you can, check out the 3rd.

You should delete that app.
Also, toss your police scanner.
Don’t watch the local news.
Detach from everything that “informs” you of what to be terrified about.
Take a deep breath.
Relax

Delete the app - Maybe. It does keep me informed of the shit that is going on around me if/when I see/hear police activity.
I don't have a police scanner.
Typically I don't watch the local news.
Yes, I should try to detach from what informs me of the shit that is happening around me but impossible for me to detach from what I witness personally. Unless I spend 24 hours a day in my apartment.
Yes, I should take deep breaths.
Not so easy to relax. Not living in paranoia but definitely living in a heightened sense of awareness. Having at least 6 people shot in the past year and half within a two block radius of where I live will do that to me. I'm supposed to be living in a "good" neighborhood. Grateful I'm not living in a "bad" one.

Not a mass shooting but a really, really stupid one.
https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/min ... -old-girl/
Some moran shooting off his AR to celebrate almost ends an 11 year old girl's life. Yeah guns.
Authorities say a felon celebrating the new year by drinking and firing an assault-style weapon into the air led to the shooting of an 11-year-old Minneapolis girl who was inside her home.
Two days after the shooting, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara held a press conference to announce and arrest and call the shooting a case of “absolutely reckless celebratory behavior.”
“I think it’s ridiculous and sad that we have to be here today to have this press conference,” O’Hara said, adding that it’s “an example of how stupid that is to engage in that behavior.”
