That's like saying, I could use the money I stole from you to buy something good or bad, therefore it's ok I stole it from you.

I suppose Zuck was prob so focused on hoarding user data that he didn't/doesn't care what content users are posting?

Oh, he cares, and they market to it, and manipulate it so that it drives user input.
Facebook is smart.

and this is naive but, how much data are they really hoarding? and what are they doing with it?

cuz whatever they know about me, I continue to be amazed at how bad they are at actually targeting relevant ads.

I guess every now and then they'll get some gimme like a fishing company or something, but, video games? pet products? condoms?

Mark bro, I don't use any of that shit.

I don't doubt they're smart, but they're also pretty dumb.

https://bgr.com/2018/12/19/facebook-loc ... u-for-ads/

"Even without access to your accurate location data from the smartphone, Facebook uses information from your browsing habits, including IP address, Wi-Fi network, and Bluetooth to pinpoint your whereabouts and place relevant ads inside its apps. And all of this happens as Facebook continues to give users the impression they can control whether or not they share location data with Facebook."

fb knows what you are browsing on the hub.
And where you're browsing it at.

"except i know, by being a part of that system, that they have access to my data"

But this shouldn't be acceptable to the extent they are doing it.
And in turn what they can do with it.

I guess I just don’t care that they have my data. Not sure how it negatively impacts my life.

You'd rather pay for everything on the internet than have machines know your information and location?

How does that negatively affect you?
