I assume that budgets still originate in Congress and go to the POTUS for his signature, even under the evil Trump.
If you ignore that Trump circumvents Congress regularly with his "Executive Orders".

Hey, remember when Trump said that Obama should not be allowed to do that?
He’s done that with the budget? Really?
You are dumb, but I always tried to give you credit for not being stupid.

My mistake I guess.

Trump haters can’t be logically argued with, because they’re well, not logical.

Alrighty, then. Not sure what else I could have expected, but my suspicions were confirmed at any rate.

Well, it’s been fun, but I guess I’ll leave you all to your indignant mutual admiration society. Enjoy your outrage.

Lying so much that I seriously question his assessment of attacks on oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. Why would I start to trust him on this? He takes Putin's word on no interference against every intelligence agency we have. Bromance with Kim. But we're supposed to believe him that Iran is behind the attacks on oil tankers when eye witnesses dispute his assessment? Why should we believe anything that comes out of his lying mouth?

And locking little kids up in cages.
Except that the whole cages thing was actually an Obama-era practice. Meh.

There is a good article in the NYT today somewhat touching on the original subject about "Abortion Being Complicated" addressing, in part, how pro-union, pro-gun (I'm not), and pro-life Catholic Democrats are being dismissed by the Democratic Party.

You can't dismiss people like me and then expect our vote.

Wait, how many Catholic Democrats are pro-life and pro-gun?

Isn’t that level of cognitive dissonance normally just called, Republicans?

No, and that's why Trump won, because the entire Democratic party seems to think the same way you do here.

People will just not vote.

It's incredibly brave for someone to step up and admit "yes, I know Trump's a disaster, but you need to prove to me why I feel that way."

Its incredibly brave for an entire party to assume that people will vote for whomever they put forth just because "your other option is trump". Mjl is correct in that people will either not vote or find 3rd party options (aka throwaway votes). Its incredibly brave for a party to base their whole strategy on a holier than thou approach and assume that all will accept that as a governing tactic. Yes trump is difficult and depressing. But the Democrats need to put forth someone who is relatable and who can garner some of the moderate folks. The far left first approach is not a guaranteed win. It might win but there is no guarantee. Many people are as frustrated and put off by the supreme thinking of the far left as they are by the concern of the damage from the extreme right.
