Ugh, exhausting. Congrats on beating the conversation to death over pointless details to where I dont want to talk about it any more. You should work for the Republican Party.

You don't think it counts as domestic terrorism because some occur in predominately black areas? Most of the people in those communities where this is taking place are law abiding citizens, not gang members. Go ask the residents of those communities if they don't feel terrorized by those mass shootings.

Both are domestic terrorism. And the solutions/possible solutions are the same for both.
I don't think it is helpful to call every mass shooting "domestic terrorism."
I agree.

Gang violence where only gang members are targeted or impacted should be classified as gang violence.....but I don't think some realize that the inner city mass shootings are impacting more than just gang members in a lot of instances. If it's impacting non gang members then it sure seems like domestic terrorism.

It can't only be domestic terrorism when it's a majority of white people who are being impacted. Or if its happening in non low income areas. That can't be the criteria.
Maybe I'm being reductive, but I think all types of violent crime are worthy of study and prevention. It is probably helpful, particularly in terms of resource (expert) allocation, to put things in categories.

Then rename the thread "let's talk reasons for all flavors of violence".

This is called "scope creep" and it's a reason why stuff never gets done.

I never said that inner city violence wasn't worthy of discussion, debate and solution. It's just not the topic of this thread.

JFC. The thread title is about mass shootings. If you're going to regurgitate statistics you saw on CNN or MSNBC that include inner city MASS SHOOTINGS then don't act like a whiny bitch when people mention that aspect of MASS SHOOTINGS.

What kind of "stuff getting done" are you trying to accomplish on an anonymous message board filled 95% with people who look and think just like you?

Movies, video games, music. Take your pic. How about we stop glorify murder by the MSM!
How about we keep weapons out of the hands of people who are mentally ill.

And, just for starters, how about we put a limit on whoever can get one of these things:

Then you have to know who is mentally I'll. And some folks arent a big fan of Big Govt. having their medical data.

And the NRA certainly isnt going to tolerate a shrinking of the pool of customers.....citizens eligible to buy a gun. Now you're "stepping on the toes of the Constitution."

Bingo! I find it interesting how quickly some/many people blame the "mentally ill" for mass shootings and feel that's THE main issue when it comes to mass shootings.
I promise people the majority of "mentally ill" people don't go out and shoot others.
Anyways, I am 100% in favor of people who are "mentally ill" not having easy access to guns but help me out here. So if we are going to do something about the "mentally ill" not being able to have easy access to guns does that mean EVERYone in this country has to get mentally "assessed" - and who exactly gets to do the assessments/diagnosing? What liability do they have?

I'm not kidding when I say if I were to be one of the people doing the assessments/diagnosing then I would conclude there are a whole lot of people that post on here who could qualify as being "mentally ill" based on their posts alone. Yes, myself included.

Interesting Tweet Geez.
I could go off on a tangent about religion and those who are devout followers but now is probably not the right time.
I'll just say I have an issue with those who willingly allow themselves to believe things that they are told and read - that aren't true.
Carry on.

this belongs in the pro-life thread, but I'm putting it here for the count. Paraphrasing a quote I saw but not sure who said it.

so howsabout to reduce gun violence we:

- require mandatory waiting periods
- parental permission
- a note from a doctor proving the gun buyer understands what he's about to do
- force gun buyers to watch videos about the effects of gun violence
- close down all but one gun shop in every state and make gun buyers travel hundreds of miles at their own expense to some strange town to buy a gun
- make gun owners walk through a crowd of protestors holding photos of gun violence victims, have the protestors call the gun buyer a murderer, and beg him not to do it
- ultrasound up the ass, just cuz

I'll take "Planned Parenthood" for $2,000 dollars, Alex.

The irony is the damage that much heat is doing to the chassis when these pencil dicks crank 100 rounds at a high rate of fire.
One can hope that eventually the chassis overheats to the point it starts pre firing.

I read that a few days ago.
I agree with the scenario.

3 10 round mags could do the job.

My experience is that after 2 rounds, hogs run wild...so to speak.

EDIT: Some folks do use subsonic rounds. In that case, it would take more than a few rounds to bring down a hog.
