Put AP NCAA National Championship and hang it...

I might avoid the “national champions” language but put something like “2020 AP consensus #1” and when folks ask what that’s all about just say it was the year we finished the season as the top team but coronavirus cancelled the tournament.

If we don't get actual recognition from the NCAA I think we should put something up in Allen but have it look different than the title banners.

I’m all for that pdub.

Ohio State has done something similar when they went undefeated in college football in like 2012. But were on a ban and couldn’t participate in postseason. Basically just a banner that said undefeated 12-0. Nothing else.

I think AP #1 for 2019-2020 would suffice.

Some organization will name a champion...AP, Sporting News, Sports Illustration....wait and pick the best....then I would add "Helms" to the first 2...I think Kansas should claim them

We should embrace the three Championships we won when there wasn't a NCAA Tournament.

I don't know. I know not having the tournament really, really sucks. But hanging a banner declaring National Champs or AP #1 almost feels like something K State would do. I'd like to think KU is above that.

If AP and/or NABC declare us the champs and give us their trophy(ies), then a banner would be more legitimate than the Helms banners, which currently hang in AFH and places like the Dean Dome.

Nobody, and I mean nobody wanted it to end like this. People clearly wanted a tournament champion, but in light of that not being possible we can resort to other methods of selecting a champion. Looking to precedent is a great way to find another acceptable method. If the NCAA were to declare us champions without the tournament, Id accept that. They probably won’t, but if the AP, NABC or another organization, I’d be fine putting up a banner specifying who named us the champ as others have suggested. I don’t like it, it’s not satisfying but I’ll take it.
