For cliched, overplayed dive-bar songs that every drunk HAS to sing along with, I'll just say (or drunkenly scream) "THIRD VERSE!"
Ha!

Damn! A rockabilly song with brass. What a talent!

I love her introduction.

From the comments:

"This is one of the most beautiful love songs that has ever been written" she says softly and demurely.

Elvis was the male Wanda Jackson

One of the first popular female rockabilly singers and a pioneering rock and roll artist. She is known to many as the "Queen of Rockabilly" (or "First Lady of Rockabilly")

i have just seen this lady on Imelda May's show. Wow, she is incredible, she was telling the story of how usa wouldnt accept a young woman singing rockabilly so her first no.1 was in Japan. She was asked in 1985 to go to Scandanavia to perform..such an incredible lady and great to see..

Hotter than an Alabama playground slide in August.

This was a # 1 hit for Elvis in 1958. It was one of the songs featured in the movie "King Creole." That guitar break here is pure rock-a-billy.
True. And that's where he learned it. They were sweethearts. He missed out, then did his own thing, but hindsight is 20/20. Wanda Jackson never sold out. She is pure Original Music from the USA. Go Wanda Go!

At least when the prestigious Crooked Creek Saloon was open for business here in Fraser, the juke box was consistently this mix of Grateful Dead and heavy metal.

And somehow, for that particular dive, it worked.

When I think of Lynyrd Skynyrd drinking songs, this one comes to mind. (Great lyrics.)From a performance three months before the plane crash.

(With thanks to Gary Rossington.)

Good shit!

I recall a Trey Anastasio interview in which he’s asked, do you think that 100 years from now people will still listen to Phish?

Whoa, I dunno man, who can say?

What about the dead?

Again man, who knows?

Okay, what kinda music DO you think people will still listen to in 100 years?

Lynyrd Skynyrd, for sure, man!

99 has no idea what 3rd verse means. But he thinks it's a reference to a bad bro-country song.
