shindig wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 11:02 am Most of ya'll can probably guess what I consider my "cool" shit...lol. 2 trikes I restored from the ground up. More money spent on them than they are probably worth now, but hey, we all need hobbies. I don't have a flickr account anymore, so can't upload either of them, any other suggestions (flickr is also blocked on my work laptop).

Other cool shit I collect are old vintage fans that you can stick your whole hand in if you're not careful. My favorite is a 1928 oscillating fan with brash blades and it still works after I re-wired it. Other vintage stuff I have are an old copper and brass fire extinguisher, probably from the 1940's and an old brass blow torch...lol Both are in my office.
I feel your pain/glutton for punishment: I've completely restored a 71 Triumph Bonneville, a 73 Norton Commando and a 70 MG Midget. I'm in the middle of a 64 Norton Electra restoration. My shop space has shrunk by 40% . . . Anybody want to buy a vintage keepsake? πŸ˜‰
That's some cool stuff though. I've love an old Triumph. Hard to find parts for, that's the thing. Even on my 2 trikes (both are 1986's), everything is crazy high price wise on eBay. NOS plastics run over $5k for my 250R....I run Maiers. They are pretty much the same, just not "quality" wise as OE, but I'm not dropping $5k on a set of fenders...crazy.

Kettle-cooked-style chips that are not fresh are trash, as a categorical matter.

Non-fresh chips as a default side at a restaurant is a travesty that should not be accepted in an advanced society.

i thought it was the shit when i got it

now, it’s kinda meh...especially when i see him hawking doritos
I got a great one for the "collectible that was cool when you got it but now it's meh". My uncle was a card and coin dealer when I was a kid and somehow knew someone who worked for the Oakland A's. When Jose Canseco became the first person to go for 40/40, he signed and dated 33 items (his jersey number) as well as a certificate of authenticity of what and when it was. It's was a pretty cool one of a kind thing that I probably could have gotten some money for early on when I got it but it's completely worthless now.

Talk about random.

I dont mind either. But the question wasnt stale...it was "not fresh" perhaps i misinterpreted the meaning of that phrase.

Chips are acceptable as a hot-food side only where they were fried same-day.

Collecting cards is/was a great hobby - and business.
I collected cards as a kid (and young adult) and actually worked for a "trading card" distributor for about 6 months. Because of it, I now have many 200 pounds of SH*T in boxes. Problem is there is probably 1 pound of some cards that are worth something - that I would have to dig through the 200 pounds to find.

Not worthless at all if it brings back fond memories of when you caught it.
