Absolutely.

I also think a 32 team tourney is still on the table--another reason I was thinking 7 or better to be safe.

KU wins 5 of the last 7. They are probably going to be on that 6 line, easily.

I don't think there's any justification to this, but I think outside of the top 2 lines, I think the 6 line is the easiest line to advance far. You have a very fringe at large team at 11, an either underachieving blue blood or an overachieving non P5 school as the 3 seed. Make it to the next weekend and you have a shot of going against a 2 or a 7 most likely. Definitely doable.

Quite true about the 3 seeds. Seems like a good seed for UT to inevitably lose to a 6.

If we win our next 4, we're sitting at 10-5 in conference, which probably puts us in second or third place. All of a sudden out games with TTU and UT seem completely different.

I've long thought that the 3 seeds are the most suspect teams of the top like 6 line teams.

Yes, some have won it all as a 3 seed, but it's been a rough go I feel like for the 3 seeds.

This is pie in the sky, but a sweep of Tech and splits with: WVU, UT, OSU, OU, and Baylor--we're feeling really good all things considered.

I'm having a hard time seeing us go 3-0 in the last three....I could see 2-1 if we take care of business in the next 4 and have some momentum. But man, 1-2 or 0-3 just seem like such a possibility.

But if that were the case, and you win 1+ conference tourney game, you're looking at a 2 seed.

I'll take 1-2 if the 1 is Baylor.

That would be the single best win of anyone in the field.

Yep. And our guys' psyche needs it badly.

Not to be a debbie downer and all, but we have 2 wins in the last 30 days. Those two wins in the last 30 days came against tcu and kstate.

False. That is exactly what you are doing.

Fair.

But we have 3 of the four easiest, and 4 of the 8 easiest games in our next 4. (basically 4 teams of the calliber of two of the three teams we beat in our worst month in the Self era).

Now is the time to right the ship.

Three (home, OU, January 9). But, distinction without a difference. We've been shit.

Maybe we can get a worn out Baylor team:

Baylor needs to start forfeiting games IMO.

If they're going to make teams forfeit games for following the covid guidelines then we shouldn't even be playing at all.

Teams aren't going to have equal schedules, just like football. It's all about getting to the money maker (ncaa tournament).

The conference tournaments are such a godawful idea right now. Seems almost inevitable that they will result in multiple teams missing the main tournament.

Can't interrupt the Iowa State fans' vacation.

The NCAA needs to get out in front of this. What happens if a bunch of secure schools start dropping out? You will have bracket chaos because you will necessarily have more automatic qualifiers who would not have made the field otherwise.
