Costs too much, may not have him for 3/4 of the year, who knows if he'll recover from such a significant injury.

Hitchens played better this season than last but he was not really good.
He was an average to below average linebacker.
His impact is through leadership - but his play doesn't back it.

What?

Fisher is a 31 year old Pro Bowl LT with a dead cap hit of $3.1M and one year left on his deal.

He's not going anywhere. KC will work out an extension that lowers his Cap Hit from $15.1M to somewhere around the $3.1M in dead cap for 2021 and probably extend him to 2025-2026

Hitch is fine for what he his but he puts the Chiefs in bad spots because he is only a two down LB. He is a huge liability in the pass game because he is so slow. Ideally Gay steps in and can be that sideline to sideline three down LB. I never need to see Neiman ever, ever again. He is a less athletic and physical Dirty Dan.

You get LDT back which helps your interior but the big outlier will be what is Niang like and are Fisher and Schwartz done? You are probably looking at least replacing a LT or RT depending on how Niang does.

And QB, for the ridiculous amount of people that thought Mahomes was bad last Sunday.

He's going to be out for a year at minimum. 2021 is last year of his contract. He is only 30 but he had back issues on top of having the injury in the AFC Championship game. He's made $82M in his career and he's been beat up pretty good for a while. He may decide he wants to be done. Same with Schwartz, dude has made about $50M and is probably thinking the same.

My guess is that KC attempts to move on from Fisher because
A: The injury history.
B: He's been above average, but probably not great to live up to current contract.
C: Chiefs probably are going to want to see what their young guys (Rankin and Durant) can do while on much cheaper deals. They're more athletic and can keep up with the ever-improving pass rushers.

I shook my head as Marcellus Wiley, as he is paid to do, dropped some ridiculous comments about "it's time to pump the brakes on all the Mahomes hype" Like, who watched that game and said "Ya know what, this loss is all on Mahomes"

He definitely missed a few throws, he had Hardman open and overthrew him for what probably would have been a TD.

But for the most part, he was running for his life, and his receiving core was dropping balls.

Hot takes drive views. It is pretty much all daytime tv and radio are anymore. The serious journos don't stand a chance.

I think I have never seen a quarterback who is better at extending plays and giving teams a chance. The facemask balls gave pro receivers a chance to be great.

I'm stealing this from Aqib, but he explained Mahomes the best: it's the never-ending backpedaling and the fact that the entire field is available to him no matter how long he holds the ball. It makes it nearly impossible for the defense.

Houston sports fans have lost Deandre Hopkins, James Harden, JJ Watt, Russell Westbrook, George Springer, Gerrit Cole and possibly Deshaun Watson all in the last year. Ouch.

Watt on the Chiefs makes sense if he wants a chance at a ring more than tons of cash. But. . .Steelers?

Wentz to the Colts for a 2021 3rd rounder and a 1st/2nd conditional pick in 2022.
Don't know what to make of this for winners/loosers in terms of teams - but Wentz wins - and this keeps Colts in the playoff picture.

That's amazing that it worked considering his contract and his 2020 season.

But Colts had a ton of cap space and Reich and Wentz were really good together in back in 2017 or whichever year it was.

Does Philly go with a QB in the draft or do they stick it out with Hurts and see?
