I have such little desire to follow this trial, but the comments here now have me wondering: is the defense challenging cause of death?
Yes

Drugs, and heart disease.
“If he had a pre-existing heart condition, then how do we know his heart quitting during that 9 minutes was caused by that knee on his neck?”
they’re also arguing that Chauvin was just doing as he was trained...ok but that even worse, right?

Thanks. Guess we’ll find out how it goes for them. Civil is different, but if the civil trial were mine, I’d have long conversations about letting that aspect go.

Chauvin was playing Minesweeper on Hunter Biden’s laptop while simultaneously murdering George Floyd.

The off-duty firefighter paramedic testified today that she was not allowed by police to give aid to Floyd, or to direct the police to give aid.
The store clerk who questioned Floyd’s $20 bill said his speech was slow and he acted like he might be high, but otherwise calm and good spirits.
Also apparently questions as to why cops initially approached Floyd with guns drawn and immediately took him into custody, since an allegedly counterfeit bill is only a misdemeanor that usually result just in a citation

Heartbreaking to hear the clerk say he feels responsible for Floyd's death - and what transpired after it.

There will be violence and looting and burning no matter the outcome.
Yep. And it will be disgusting to see how the MSM tries to justify it. Contrary to last year, I think will see more pushback from people when their private businesses are burned down by a bunch of terrorists.

Juror 7 had a “stress-related reaction” and told the judge she has had trouble sleeping, but otherwise thinks she’s ok to proceed

Another witness who was driving when he came upon the arrest of Floyd broke down in tears on the stand.
He yelled “you can’t win” at Floyd, apparently trying to convince him to get into the patrol car.

i think you misremember...the terrorists are the ones that stormed the capitol, injured more than 100 officers (killing one), and were looking to lynch the vice president

Nah, they were White people. It's really only "the Blacks" who are the "terrorists" in this country.
The not funny thing is it seems Wally actually believes the MSM as a WHOLE "justifies" the violence.

Don't EVER underestimate the power/intentions/actions of those who hate "the Blacks" - these days.
I don't think they will riot per se but my guess is more than a handful will "act out" in negative ways.

In a rare move, Floyd’s girlfriend testified about his previous struggles with opioid addiction.
Prosecutors acknowledge the defense will use it to assassinate his character, but stress there is no death penalty for being a drug addict, that he had a high tolerance for fentanyl, and that “he was brought back in previous overdose situations with medical treatment which wasn’t provided here”

The paramedics on the scene said Floyd was unresponsive when they first arrived, no pulse.
Defense grilled the paramedic for not asking the cop in the ambulance to help with chest compressions (officer Lane, who was also fired the day after Floyd’s arrest and is also facing charges)

Police captain, sergeant, supervisor testifying as well.
Chauvin’s supervisor says the policy cops are trained to do is to lay a restrained person on their side in the “hobble position,” so they can breathe easier without complications, even if officers still have to put their weight on the guy
