Monday night game is on TBS this year.

Prior to this year's tourney, we had two consecutive Final Fours without any of Duke, Kansas, Carolina or Villanova.

The last time we had three consecutive tourneys without at least one of those four teams participating was a five year stretch from 1958-1962.

unc-duke in the final four is probably the best thing that could have happened for us. those 2 can suck up all the air in the room with countless photo ops and interviews and commitments to the media. they can get weighted down.

all the while we can fly on the radar. conduct our business. do our thing. we can manage the ordinary distractions that come with the final four. while the other side of the bracket deals with the extraordinary.

Yep. The other semifinal was bound to be crazy no matter who won the Saint Peter's - Carolina game last night. Add that to the list of "things breaking KU's way".

Waiting until Thursday or Friday games was a long week. Waiting for a Saturday game is a LONG week. At least we get to spend it reading about coverage of KU and highlights of their big win.

Enjoy the wait. It won't last long. It is better than the alternative.

Some of you are impossible to please, so undoubtedly the coverage of Duke will be viewed as unfair.

I expect Illy will continue to cover Duke as a stringer right here.

I'm not usually one to dig into the "east coast bias" or the media disrespect so many KU fans seem to believe is a thing, but if you think Kansas vs Villanova is going to have the same coverage as the combination of Duke/UNC in the Final Four and Coach K's last season, you're an idiot, lol.

It took a wild second half to get them to shut up about Miami's greatness during the broadcast. It will be insufferable.

the duke/k fan boys see nothing wrong with the greatest coach in the history of everything getting all the attention

Of course it won't.

The other game is the biggest college basketball rivalry, 2 of the 4 winningest programs of all time, meeting for the first time in the final four, in Ks final season.

We will still get plenty of attention. And for fucks sake, who cares about the pre game attention. If we win 2 more games we will get all the attention we need and deserve. And it'll last more than a few days this week. A banner will hang for eternity.

I sure hope our players play more for championships than they do butt pats by the media.
