Bruce webers first year at k state:
14-4 conference record. Tied for 1st
Tangs first year at k state:
11-7 conference record. Tied for 3rd
Just throwing this out there for the mouthy k state fans.

ksu stands to loose their 1st team b12ers and their fourth leading scorer next season.
so if tang can get them to 1st place like Bill Self did in a similar situation this season maybe then he will be 1/17th as good as Self.

Well, I'd say that sorts wraps Bruce's career up with a little bow, right? He did great with a full cupboard...and then left an empty one.

Didn't they make an elite 8 a few years ago?
That's pretty good for KState. More programs than you'd think have never even made an elite 8.

yes - but largely did so because they didn't have to face 1 seed ( was in 1 overall? ) Virginia because of the first ever 1 v 16 upset.
and then blew their chance at a final four by loosing to an 11 seed.

In my opinion, who you play on your way to elite 8 or final 4 doesn't taint anything for me. It's a tournament and that's what happens in tournaments. They don't call it madness for nothing.
Byt yes, losing to an 11 to make the final 4 hurts.

I wouldn't say taint but there are better tournament runs than others.
And playing a 16 seed to get to the sweet 16 isn't doing you any favors.
KU beating two 1 seeds in 2008 and a criminally under seeded Davidson was pretty solid.
If KU had won in 2003, it'd have been a helluva run as well.

Agree. All runs aren't equal.
But when you're a KState type school you'll take any run you can get.

who would you rather play in the round of 32. the 16 or the 1.
even though you say it won't do me any favors. i'll select the 16.

sure.
i'd argue their better run 'recently' was their e8 in 2010 with pullen and clemente.

of course.
but if you asked me after i won the national championship if i could have won by playing the 8, 1, 4, 2, 1 and 1, i'd choose that.
this is a microcosm of whether you'd rather win the "b12 is best" conference or say, the summit.

Not sure their student fan base is old enough to remember 2010?
That's a long time between runs.

Same.
6 up. 6 down. That's all that matters.

38 different programs have made at least 1 Elite Eight just in the last 10 years, 21 of which have made more than 1 in that time. Kansas, Duke and Kentucky have each made 5 Elite Eights in the last 10 years.

I'd be impressed and proud if they won a national title playing the toughest possible road but I would certainly rather that they have to play the lowest possible seeds to do to win a national title.
The fact that KU did not have as tough a road seed-wise takes zero shine or enjoyment off of last year's national title. I'd rather KU win the national, regardless of the path.
