Re: CBB Offseason 23
they aren’t even all words though
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: CBB Offseason 23
Unfortunately, I think Webster has been letting it all in.
fav is in there I believe, as short for favorite.

Re: CBB Offseason 23
but then, technically it’s an abbreviation of a word

'jfc'
That's probably in there now too.

Re: CBB Offseason 23
apparently, fav also stands for “forever a virgin”

There is a note however:
"These examples are programmatically compiled from various online sources to illustrate current usage of the word 'fav.' Any opinions expressed in the examples do not represent those of Merriam-Webster or its editors."
So take that with a gn f slt.
Back to CBB Offseason.
We're fav's to win the B12 again now, right?

Re: CBB Offseason 23
I think we were already more or less co-favorites with Houston. Cryer was a really nice get for them, but the step up to a tougher conference + KU landing Morris/Timberlake/Dickinson creates some separation.
Really wish Cryer had been interested in playing the 2. Harris/Cryer/Timberlake/Adams/Dickinson with Udeh and a talented young bench could easily be preseason #1. Still in the conversation without him.
Re: CBB Offseason 23
What’s the WORST season Bill has had at Kansas with a superstar big? Was it the year we lost to Kentucky in the natty?
(No, I don’t count Dedric.)

Re: CBB Offseason 23
Are you measuring seasons by a 6 game single elimination tournament or, like, actually measuring it?
And Dedric was 2nd/3rd team AA. Superstar meaning 1st team AA/consensus 2nd?

Re: CBB Offseason 23
Something a little less tangible than that. Dedric’s honors were because of his counting numbers in two traditional columns. He ate up points and rebounds. He was a disinterested-to-bad defender, and that team was a mess.
Re: CBB Offseason 23
I have bad news for you.
Dickinson is known for not being a good defender.
I see where you are coming from* -- I didn't like Dedric much at all -- but he was a superstar.
Because that team was in shambles down the stretch, he had to be our scoring.
49% from the field while being the focus of defenses was pretty, correction, very good.
*i'm likely on record knocking him down a few pegs in the past

I don't want any of you guys blaming the refs if we have some defensive lapses. That is my job.

Re: CBB Offseason 23
Good shot blocker. Our staff will see to it he is a serviceable defender. Udeh is a good defender and that will push Hunter to improve on that end of the floor.

Bye John Higgins. I’m sorry for all the shit I gave you before I realized Doug Sirmons was out there.

Re: CBB Offseason 23
Did they just say “Bye John Higgins” and that’s that?
Or do they have to go to the monitor to review the decision first?
