That's funny Illy, when I see the thread title, the Alaskan Bush People come to mind, and I wonder which one is TDub?

lol

To be honest, I first thought of Heimo Korth from The Last Alaskans, and people on Life Below Zero. But of course, I couldn't resist getting the Alaskan Bush People dig in. (I read that family is worth ~ $60 million dollars.)

If you click "Watch On YouTube", there are 7 additional 8-9 minute segments of the show to the right of this video. The show only ran from 2025-19, apparently, and I don't think Discovery plays it in reruns, but I could be wrong. Maybe you can watch them if you subscribe?

in my defense, i don’t really consider any variety of, um, animal acquisition? to be a sport (fishing included)

sport shooting?…meh, i guess

Not "trapping", but this came up in my YouTube feed, and I wasn't aware that "Life Below Zero" is still on the Nat Geo channel with new episodes every Tuesday night at 9 eastern.

only got 5 in before dark after work tonight and set them all along an access road with a ton of sign and activity. About half dirt hole and half flat sets. All targeting coyote, but...could get any number of things interested. I used a bobcat gland lure ona couple of them, mainly ad a curiosity lure because the coyotes don't smell a lot of them around here. But, I've also seen some bobcat sign around ...I wouldn't be upset if a bobcat wandered into one of them.

Might even snag a porky for you

Need to get a few more sets on that road and along the field edge/field break and run that for a bit before I add another line over on another draw across the way. Lots of ground to experiment with this year but....I gotta ease into it and add little sections at a time. It's quite a bit of time spent to walk the line and check everything every 2 days.

good luck on the coyotes, but i hope you get skunked on bobcats (i’ve got a soft spot for big cats)

we’re still committed to a porky if luck plays out

Does that mean you caught one of your dogs in a trap?

I understand that's not uncommon.

lol no...coyote. I've only caught my dog once and that was his own fault

id post pics but is there a way to do that here or you have to load it to a third party site? Or maybe I shouldn't , I know it's offensive to some people.

I upload my to flickr.com first, than post them here.

But that doesn't mean there isn't another, better way. You might check the FAQ's.

i used to use photobucket

if you’ve got it uploaded to a sharing site, you should be able to copy a link. i think it just needs to end in .jpg or .tiff, so that the code here recognizes it as an image. then, sandwich the link between [ img] and [ /img]

(without the added spaces)
