i think DH’s numbers will come down and average out a bit, but until they do i’ve got no problem with him taking them when open and within the offense

They're almost never within the offense. But, that's probably when he should shoot them. He gets so open because the defenses shade the other side of the floor and play off him to keep him out of the paint.

If there's 10-ish seconds left and he gets the ball on a reversal and he finds himself open like that, that's when he should confidently shoot and keep the defense honest. That would help open up our 3 main scorers.

We've had this conversation about other guys, including (most recently) Garrett.

It is critical that Harris takes open threes, particularly early in games. Getting the defense to actually cover him unlocks so much by way of spacing.

eh…not sure i agree with the bolded, but maybe i’m not paying keen enough attention

it’s a bit semantic, but imo the ball reversal that leaves DH open IS part of the offense (unless it’s a very obvious broken play sort of situation)

contrast that with Yes taking early, contested 3s that seem to almost always happen before an offensive set even gets established

but again, i’m not gonna claim to have the most analytical eye while watching

Yes, yes I would.
He even hit one off the dribble last game. 6 attempts a game seems reasonable until he shows otherwise

On the other hand the part I like about Dajuan's hesitancy (until the last couple games) to shoot threes in the first 20 seconds of the shot clock is that he's so good at running the offense and getting someone a quality shot either with an assist or hockey assist. He runs the offense with such purpose, getting guys in the right place and controlling everything. It's one of the biggest strengths of this team and early shots can negate that.

Merely meant we're not running plays for a Dajuan shot, nor are we reversing the ball, setting screens to get him open for a shot like we do on the backside for Gradey. So many of Dajuan's threes are after our options A & B aren't there.

And, my bigger beef with Yesufu is when he, inexplicably, doesn't shoot the ball when wide open and the clock is ticking. Other than Dajuan, our development of the guards just hasn't been there. Need to watch that.

Agree, :20 is too early. His shot is looking better, but in no way should he go away from his first option, which is his unique ability to keep the dribble alive and find/create easy baskets for us. Without it, our halfcourt offense would be truly atrocious.
