A group of 4 or more people who express opinions = riot.
Legitimate reasons as well…

There aren't legitimate reasons to set fires and destroy businesses.
A lot of people got carried away last summer. While the vast vast majority of protests were peaceful, many people either got out of hand or saw the situation as an opportunity to burn and loot.
Calling every person that's Republican complicit with racism is very similar to calling all Democrats rioters given the way that some of them (see above) just dismiss what happened last summer.

the notion that all republicans are white supremists, is catchy and edgey and a real attention grabber. but means nothing in the real world. just because you keep blubbering it does not make it true.
we all know that all republicans are not white supremists.
Yeah, but there's a half dozen of them somewhere in rooral West Virginia. According to Biden, those 6 bigoted people are a much larger threat to the nation than the 1,000+ riots that took place last year.
A 1,000 riots? Seems a tad high

I think he counts any gathering of people supporting BLM as a riot.

https://time.com/5886348/report-peaceful-protests/
"Their report states that more than 2,400 locations reported peaceful protests, while fewer than 220 reported “violent demonstrations.” The authors define violent demonstrations as including “acts targeting other individuals, property, businesses, other rioting groups or armed actors.” Their definition includes anything from “fighting back against police” to vandalism, property destruction looting, road-blocking using barricades, burning tires or other materials. In cities where protests did turn violent—these demonstrations are “largely confined to specific blocks,” the report says.
...
Still, many people continue to believe that Black Lives Matter protests are largely violent—contrary to the report’s findings. ACLED highlights a recent Morning Consult poll in which 42% of respondents believe “most protesters (associated with the BLM movement) are trying to incite violence or destroy property.” ACLED suggests this “disparity stems from political orientation and biased media framing… such as disproportionate coverage of violent demonstrations.”

My guess is if you take the violent protest/riot "locations" and then count each individual night those went on as an individual riot then maybe you get into the thousands. But the vast majority of protests were peaceful.

All the BLM protests remained peaceful in my county, with the only real exception being some complaints of magahead ranchers rolling coal in their diesel trucks past some of the protestors.

I thought rolling coal was only a thing here. Trucknuts are required.

That was definitely not the case here in Chicago

Because Chicago has always existed in a vacuum, free of prejudice and racially segregated hovels, where the Rotary Club provides limitless opportunity to youths of all races in recognition of their academic attainment in schools bountifully afforded resources regardless of neighborhood, it surprises me that BLM protests sprang up as anything but peaceful endorsements of the status quo.

What actual attempts to defraud an election sound like:
"All we need from the President [Zelensky] is to say, I'm gonna put an honest prosecutor in charge, he's gonna investigate and dig up the evidence, that presently exists and is there any other evidence about involvement of the 2016 election, and then the Biden thing has to be run out," Giuliani said, according to the audio. "... Somebody in Ukraine's gotta take that seriously."
I'd provide a link to the FoxNews coverage of it but it doesn't exist.

I'm not so sure. The parallel New York investigations (federal and state) appear to be steadily working their way up the pressure ladder.

I'll believe that there will be some consequences faced when I see it. Not saying it won't happen but this whole band of hoodlums and criminals seems to be avoiding significant consequences so far.

It's sure going to be amusing when Florida becomes Panama, but with congressional representation.
