Surprised it was all 3. But it is the correct verdict.

I think the fact it took about as much time as to eat a steak dinner to come to a verdict means it wasn't even close. I mean usually you have at least one or two that want to hold out for a bit just because, but this was a clear cut case.

I barely followed the trial or anything since the video came out, but it just had to be the video.

Duh.

If not for the video, this gets filed away as a “medical emergency” as cops initially reported, and Derek’s still wearing a badge today.

Same. I had no interest in following this trial (not because it's not important, but because I had all the evidence I needed, and am not going to trust jurors to do the right thing). I'm not shocked that he was convicted here, but have been that others have gotten off. Hopefully this will give jurors more courage to start convicting cops in the future, but I still am not going to trust jurors until this becomes the norm, and not the exception.

Judge is sentencing, max charges I think was 10, 25 and 40. I think you gotta put it between the most severe charges. My guess is 30.

in that same vein, hopefully this trial will prompt more cops to speak out against egregious policing tactics

End QI and you'll see a lot more cops following the book. Putting one's freedom is one thing, but the bar is still too high. Put that cop's house on the line, and you get a cop thinking about their actions more than expecting to be protected.

I give the State credit for not overcharging, as they too often want to do.

Prosecutors are an odd bunch.
