Re: B12 2024
is that isu’s fault?
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: B12 2024
At this point, it looks like we probably finish tied for fourth in the B12, which is a big letdown.
But looking forward, if McCullar is back to stay, we probably win v ksu, loose @ Houston, and then have a decent chance of actually being the 5th seed, which funny enough might help us with NCAA seeding assuming a win.
1st 4 seeds get a double bye now and 5-8 get one bye.
If we're the 5, we're going to get the winner of OSU and WVU.
Win that and you're playing the 4 seed...i'd personally like another shot at BYU, while I didn't watch I think we could beat them, even in Missouri.
2 wins in the B12 tournament I think would keep us on the 3 seed line even if one of them is vs a trash squad. And the leap between 13's and 14's, just looking at some of the brackets, looks pretty big ( i.e. you want to play Oakland and not UC Irvine ).

11-12 straight wins to end the season would erase a lot of the negative energy surrounding this team.
Re: B12 2024
Yes, but I haven't seen anything this season that could make you feel confident about even winning 4 games straight.

It's been a while since KU strung together two good halves in one game let alone 2 good games.

Re: B12 2024
Is the season over yet? I haven't been following sports much since the Super Bowl. Any word yet on where Elmarko is going to be playing next year?

Re: B12 2024
I think Self sits Elmarko down and says, “you have the physical tools to be the shot-in-the-arm other lead guard for us that our best teams have and we sure could use next year, and by the end of the year you might end up playing more minutes than Dajuan, cuz as much of a crush as I have on him, I like winning even more. But to do it, you’re gonna have to lock yourself in the gym and work your ass off all summer. If you’re willing to, great see you next year! If not, well, good luck in the portal.”
Re: B12 2024
And sorry, I don’t mean that as shitting all over Dajuan. He’s a good piece to have.
But after 2 straight seasons of playing a major role but the teams still being kinda meh; of not really improving individually; of “but he makes everybody else so much better” even tho everybody else still kinda struggles too; I think it’s worth at least trying to secure another lead guard option to have next year.
And, the whole Dajuan and KJ both slated for huge roles again next year even tho neither is a good shooter means we either have to find 3 doods who are all good enough shooters to offset them, or just think about retooling the roster a bit anyway.
To me even KJ is on a certain hot seat too. To have an undersized non-shooter who’s also not a good rebounder, I just dunno how big a role a dood like that should be penciled in for at a program as high-profile as KU

Re: B12 2024
My guess is that Self's intention this year and next would be them both to play together and play well.
The issue there is that Elmarko is shooting below 30% from 3 and Dajuan only takes them if the opposing team calls him chicken.

I'm certainly not going to wish for them to do badly for messageboard ammo, that's for sure.KUTradition wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 8:37 amDeletedUser wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 8:12 am 11-12 straight wins to end the season would erase a lot of the negative energy surrounding this team.

Self isn't going to play Elmarko more minutes than DH.
The stupid never stops.

Re: B12 2024
We were a 1 seed last year. Lost withour our HoF coach to an under seeded 8.
That's meh?
And why did you stop at 2 seasons? He played a major role, 29min per game and started 39/40 games the season before when we WON A NATIONAL FUCKING CHAMPIONSHIP.

Re: B12 2024
DH and Kj aren't on any hot seat. They are our key foundational pieces to success next year. Hopefully along with Hunter Furphy and Elmarko.
Ousdahl wants us to be Kentucky it seems like. High ceiling guys that'll never reach their ceiling in college. Guys who can "get their own shot" and "go to the basket looking to score".
Strangely, Self's way crushed Calipari's way over the long run. The results speak for themselves.
