So though Trump is corrupting the coronavirus politically, the bigger issue is simply that the news is reporting it.

What do you expect the news to do?

I generally tolerate your shtick pretty well, but, please, tell me you're actually not that dumb.

Translated....
In China, the environmental situation has improved due to an outbreak of coronavirus.
Due to the suspension of many enterprises, the sky over China has become much cleaner from harmful emissions. Corresponding satellite images published in NASA. Initially, the situation improved over Wuhan, but then the whole China was affected by the changes.

DCHawk1 wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2020 2:40 pm This is EXACTLY the problem.

Trump is corrupt and is corrupting the coronavirus politically.

But so is NBCNews...and so is "every news outlet trad has seen."

This SHOULDN'T be a partisan issue. It shouldn't even be a political issue.

But once again, I know how every person on this board is going to feel about this, about the government's response, about EVERYTHING, because we, as a society, are so fucking obsessed with and broken by politics that it's impossible for most people even to try to see beyond it.

Fucking Nobelprizewinningjagoff Paul Krugman literally cheering as the Dow crashed this week is case in point.

Sooooooo fucking broken.

And now, it's a political issue. My question to the administration is, why did you wait a month and a half to do anything about it?

I don't think they did nothing about it.

I also think they could have done more.

Additionally, that's one of Trump's most predictable flaws, false bravado: I'm in charge. I've got this. I've been talking to the best people (here, in China, wherever), and we have everything under control.

By this time next week that'll be 7600.

We can see our future in real time by watching South Korea, Italy, etc.

I know. I posted a real time virus link last Thursday and I'm amazed at it's exponential spread.

Depends on if (and how) testing is done. The raw data from around the world hardly tell the real story. For instance, Italy's infected numbers don't add up compared to total deaths reported. If the US only tests at certain places, refuses to test, don't have any tests, etc., the data just isn't reality.

But, yes, the numbers rising is a certainty. Such a certainty that it's kind of becoming a non-story.

I don't know why anyone would ever go on a fucking cruise.

Norovirus is hell.

cruises to tropical, or even sub-tropical locales never made sense to me...why wouldn’t you just stay on the mainland

family did an alaskan cruise back in ‘99, and i don’t know that there’s a better way to see that part of the world due to travel issues related to lack of roads...though, if i did it again i’d probably take my time and ferry my way up the inner passage

Mrs 99 insisted on a cruise to the Bahamas. Five day cruise. 9 total hours spent in the destination. Never again.

Also, to be clear, these case are on the CDC, who refused to test for four fucking days.

And ultimately, that's on Trump.

First two of many, I'd guess.

If I may ask without sounding dumb, what sort of rhetoric do you expect this to prompt from the potus?
