Wins are wins. I thought the Panthers were a lot better than there record indicated plus you get back an elite player in CMC.

Chalk it up. The Chiefs played a B- game and won. The Panthers played hard.

I wear my Chiefs Super Bowl Champs hat about every other day. I have worn a chiefs shirt (I have 2) about 10 times since February.
I have worn a Bears hat once since February.
Enough said?

8-1 going into your bye with the chance for both of your lines a chance to get healthy.
You may also get Sneed back as well.

Just a bit over half of the season:
Mahomes 25 TDS, 1INT.

Has he overtaken Russ for MVP?

Yes

I think so.
1. Mahomes - 25/1 TD/INT ratio is insane. Could easily have a 45/4 line when season is done.
2. Russ - The best deep ball passer in the NFL. His line still stinks so he's running around like crazy.
3. A-A-Ron - Having Adams back will propel him further up, if I had a guess.
4. Kyle Murray - The most exciting QB to play. The fastest guy on the field at all times.
5. Dalvin Cook - He's the most complete RB in football and he's been unstoppable lately.

If Mahomes finishes with something like a 10:1 TD/INT ratio, and the Chiefs finish something like 14-2, I don't see how anyone else wins it.

Mahomes is so good that people's expectations of him are unrealistic.
Michael Jordan finished 2nd an absurd amount of times in the MVP race.

Wilson may beat him in yards and maybe TDs.
But Wilson has 8 INT's so far.
And KC's defense, believe it or not, is average, while Wilson's is pretty trash, so he has to sling it.

The MVP will absolutely be a QB. I would take Mahomes/Russ over the field and not feel nervous. Rodgers/Ben/maybe Josh Allen will get some 3rd/4th/5th place votes.
OPOY is where my bias says they need to throw Dalvin Cook a bone over Kamara or MVP runner-up. Cook has only played 7 games and comfortably leads the league in rushing yards and total TD's.

And based off of your avatar we know what mattered to MJ was six rings and Finals MVPs. I have a suspicion that Mahomes feels the same way.

Mahomes is MVP because teams play KC specifically trying to stop him. He has had an astounding year for that reason. Weirdly Meillinger had the same idea; but he is not wrong.

This bye week is at a great spot.
Chiefs remaining schedule isn't as easy as it looked to be a few weeks ago.
Raiders already beat the Chiefs and could make the playoffs.
Bucs have Tom Brady and should make the playoffs.
Saints are still a NFC champ contender.
And the Dolphins are surprisingly competitive, have a surging defense, and are still in the hunt for the AFC East.
I feel good about home games v the Broncos, Falcons and Chargers.
