Glad to see a cop be held responsible for such an extreme callousness and depravity towards the community they served. Hopefully the next cop will give a few seconds of thought to what can be done to de-escalate the situation intead of relishing the technical right to escalate it to the next level.

Yes, hopefully this gives shitty police across the nation a bit of reality.

Surprised it was all 3. But it is the correct verdict.
I think the fact it took about as much time as to eat a steak dinner to come to a verdict means it wasn't even close. I mean usually you have at least one or two that want to hold out for a bit just because, but this was a clear cut case.
I'm just dumb in legalese and assumed if he got murder, the rest of the charges are irrelevant.

No, you are proving the elements of each count.
So charge (1) you might need A, B, and C. Then charge (2), it's A, B, D. Then the most serious charge (3), it's A, B, C and D. You bring all three, because you want (3), but if you can't prove C, but you can show D, you can at least convict on (2).
If you can prove on A, B, C and D, you get all three, but you usually are sentenced concurrently if it's one action. So the max will likely be whatever (3) is. He could've been convicted on much more, but you don't want to muddy up the case too with extra charges. You want a clear cut case, so you charge on multiple counts, but not all the counts.

if only one of those cops had at any point even just suggested easing up, maybe they wouldn’t be facing charges themselves. Who knows, maybe Floyd would still be alive!
But not one of them had the thought, even once. Not even out of any CYA instinct. Not even out of basic humanity.

When you become that numbed to the people you serve then you should not have that job. The law enforcement system is full of people jaded by seeing the worst of us that it has affected how they treat the rest of us. It is a trained, ingrained callousness passed from generation to generation that rots our society from within.

I wonder how much of it is jaded, and how much is just some tough guy egotism. Cuz it turns out, those sortsa guys are attracted to that kind of work.
If we can’t outright abolish the police, we need to abolish the police psyche. Protect and serve, say it over and over. No more make my day bullshit.
Cops should work as if there’s a teenage girl live streaming every shift.

Weren't a few of the other cops there when the incident occurred new to the force?
Chauvin is just a POS shitty cop who is going to get what he deserves. It will hopefully make the other POS shitty cops out there think twice (no matter how small of a % of cops that is).

One thing I recall that I thought might have come up in the trial but never did:
The whole angle where Floyd and chauvin knew each other previously from both working as bouncers at the same bar or something?
Though I dunno what could have come from it, or if it would even be admissible.

Was that even true or just an internet rumor?

POS shitty cop. Shitty as a piece of shit.
I try to stay away from the ACAB but here’s one angle I’ve heard:
Yes, all cops are bastards. Even the good ones. They all swear the same oath to uphold the same laws that comes from the same system. And until they make it a habit to speak up more when other cops are being bastards, then yup, acab.

As the verdict was being read, a 15 year old black girl was shot dead by Columbus OH PD.

Yes, one had only been on the job a matter of days as the next generation of cop and deferred to Chauvin's actions because he had been trained to.
"At one point, Lane asked, "Should we roll him on his side?" Chauvin responded: "No, staying put where we got him." Lane then said, "I am worried about excited delirium or whatever," to which Chauvin said, "That's why we have him on his stomach.""
