I think everyone that is leaving did not live up to the expectations, rather from previous stops or expectations put onto them by Bill.
Again, Bill the GM has not been great lately. Bill the coach is incredible tho.

If you hold every coach to the same GM standards, no coach has been a good GM.
Again, I haven't heard anyone name a coach better in that department.

When you guys say "Bill," are you talking about the guy who used to be our coach?

This mean Cuffe is probably staying?
Dude was a ridiculous athlete in high school. I didn't see it in the tiny bit he played so far at KU. But I like the idea of keeping him.

Door's open for playing time for Cuffe if he stays healthy. I always wonder how these transfer conversations go with Bill. Does he try to get any of them to stay or does he wish them luck and tell them it's for the best?

I'm sure it's a "I'm fully planning on recruiting guys that are coming here to take a major spot. You can either stay and try to get minutes or I will help you find a spot where you'll get playing time"

I don't know what to think...supposedly Yesufu will be with the team during the Barnstorming Tour.

I think I remember hearing that someone in the program or one of his family members said he could dunk, but only barely.
Just absurd for a 6'7 or 6'8 guy.
Again, I mean this with love and admiration: he's definitely the worst great player we've had here under Bill. He's not really good at anything...and yet he's somehow great at playing basketball.

If Jalen wants to get drafted, this is probably his best shot.
I bet he goes just after the 1st - like 33-40th.
Have we received official word that he did in fact set an NCAA record for most points in a season by a guy 6'6" or taller, without a single dunk?
I was going to say Royce White but I guess my memory of his scoring abilities are not consistent with reality now that I look up his stats.
Although speaking of ISU, Georges Niang is also in that conversation.
Even Niang dunked at least once.

I want cuffe to stay. I think he's got a chance to get a really good college player. He's been here 2 years already. Learning and improving. But he still has 4 years of eligibility. He's a high level athlete with decent size for a combo guard

i found that a bit odd myself. he put his name into the transfer portal. in the meantime, he is going to hang around and profit. Seems weird to me.

or, maybe his name on the roster for barnstorming is a typo.

Theres been barnstorming tours in the past where guys that didn't even play at KU joined as extra players
I dont think yesefu left on bad terms. He always seemed like a good teammate. Probably still friends with the guys and maybe wanted to. They might even make some money off it these days

I dont think yesefu, pettiford, or clemence left on bad terms. They all seemed like good kids and teammates. They just got realistic about the fact that they only have one college career and are talented enough to be starters somewhere else
Mj rice on the other hand... his transfer seems more like a guy that was butthurt he didn't play more as a freshman. He was in line to start next season, but had a bad attitude about it and wanted to go elsewhere

I wonder what it would have done for MJ's chances of staying at KU, and for last year's team's ceiling, if we had just lived with MJ as the perimeter guy off the bench
(rather than the holding our noses and continuing to double down on the hope that Bobby/Yes might do something in their combined 25 minutes a game)
but, among other issues, that was also complicated by things like illness and injury.

what did Rice do that mean you say....damn, that kid should play more? Besides looking the part?

Yeah, on defense it was like 5 on 4 when he was out there

well, yea, he looked the part. Dude at least had size for a guard.
and, he at least showed flashes of being a dynamic player. Didn't he have a bunch of points in his debut, highlighted by alley oops and such?
but yea, like I said, among other issues. Cuz, yea, for much of the season, he kinda looked lost, and prone to dumb mistakes, and stuff.
But, that's the thing! So did the reserves who WERE getting the minutes!
so, to flip that question back at you -- what did Bobby and/or Yes do that made you say, damn, those kid/s totally deserve that 25 minutes a game?
