Lets see if he takes a big paycut so they can sign some real dudes.
I believe a report from an ESPN LA guy, McMenamin, who says Bron is basically giving the Lakers a week to find an impact player with the midlevel exception (or else he’s going to take the max again).
Sounds like they are also going to move D'Lo since he opted into his contract. Curious to see who they can get between that trade and whoever they get with the mid-level exception.

A lot of contract adjustment/movement/opting/etc. started today.
Here is the NOT funny thing. I seriously believe if the Lakers stay healthy (highly doubtful but....) they will somehow win the 2025 NBA Championship.
wanna bet?
Straight up? No thanks.
I'll will take the 35-1 odds I can get on FanDuel right now for $10.

Wonder what free agents the Lakers will pursue...

KCP seems like a good fit.

Demar Derozan?

Klay Thompson?

Do they keep D'Lo and hope he can be more consistent?

Sign Dok as a backup Center!

Oubre?

Klay, Harden, or JoVal?

JoVal would be interesting. LeBron at 3, AD at 4, JoVal at 5. Reeves and D'Lo/whoever at 1 and 2.

Not good enough to win it all, but better than last year.

I realize it was a regular season game, and it was just one game, and Boston beat LA in LA when the Lakers had LeBron and AD playing, and, and, and, but the Lakers without LeBron and AD were good enough to beat Boston in Boston. I'm just sayin'.

Lakers with LeBron, AD, Reaves, Russell (if he stays), and whoever else is better than decent that they will get, are good enough to win it all.

I don't think they can get past Denver if AD is expected to play the majority of his minutes at the 5 matched up against Jokic.

We don't know who will be on the Lakers and Denver come playoff time in 2025 but based on last season, indeed the Lakers didn't get past Denver - but..... Denver couldn't get past Minnesota, who couldn't get past Dallas, who couldn't get past Boston.
