If harris was overwhelmingly a better candidate, why did America reject her?

She couldn't even balance a campaign budget. She had 3 times the funding of trump and lost, and ended up in debt. She spent most her money on staffing and paying millions for out of touch celebrity endorsements

Truthfully, harris had the backing of the entire establishment, including a corrupt media that continually lied on her behalf. And harris still lost because she was a horrible candidate. Her record reflects that

Harris once supported using tax dollars to fund sex change operations for prisoners. This is a perfect example of what an out of touch candidate she is, why she lost, and why her and the dems need to stay the fuck away from our tax dollars so we can fix our country

Pdub there's no point banning me. I'm done with this poli board. It's a group of maybe 10 miserable old men that are completely out of touch with reality. There's a reasons most posters avoid this board like the plague

But I can leave with one final "I told you so" you out of touch with reality lunatics

Part of it:

"About 130 million adults in the U.S. have low literacy skills according to a Gallup analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education. This means more than half of Americans between the ages of 16 and 74 (54%) read below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level.

Literacy is broadly defined as the ability to read and write, but it more accurately encompasses the comprehension, evaluation and utilization of information, which is why people describe many different types of literacy — such as health, financial, legal, etc. Low literacy skills can profoundly affect the day-to-day success of adults in the real world, and these impacts extend to their families, too."

We are seeing more and more issues with people being able to critically read the information that is being deceptively packaged and targeted at them and successfully identify that it is BS. It wasn't a problem back in the Obama era. It has been a HUGE problem in the last three elections because the Russians easily identified that Trump was a leader who could be blackmailed and manipulated so there was a much larger incentive for them to meddle.

The rise of Facebook during the Obama elections showed Russia that the US public wasn't very good at reading and critically reviewing what they read. If you can anger a typical American, they won't even finish reading the material before they fire off angry responses, let alone read it and research the contents of the material.

You, Mich, JK and Ousdahl prove this over and over every single day.

attacking teachers, the unchecked growth of social media, everyone having a computer in their pockets (even kids), and the fracturing of legitimate journalism have created a perfect storm of sorts

this country absolutely has an information consumption problem (i’m sure it’s elsewhere too, though would be surprised if it’s as bad in any other western country)

See the very first post of this thread.

It's largely because:

A. Voters associate Harris with the current executive party in power - some justly and some unjustly. And how she became the candidate was an absolute total fail - so i'm sure some possible Democrat voters just noped out because they didn't have a choice. I was one of those until late in the game. Harris wasn't that good a candidate at all...

but

B. 70 millionish Americans don't care if their president is a cheater, a bigot, a sore looser, a liar, a man solely out for his money an ego, a conman who doesn't actually care about the middle class/poors - AND, a man who, at best, riled up his base after he lost the last election which led to an attack on the Capitol, or, at worst, tried with everything he had to overturn the Democratic process, just as long as they can win and give a middle finger to the 'other' side.

So you're on here with your middle finger - but if you keep this up you can stick it wherever Psych wants you to and you two can deny covid, election results, and reality together - wherever that may be.

A. wait...how do some UN-justly associate Harris with the current executive party in power?

B. I think the middle finger is more than just to the 'other' side, but to the establishment at large. I'm pretty sure Trumpers think they're punching not across, but up. The key word here is, "think," tho, cuz it's absurd to think a racist rapist fraud rich guy actually stands up for average folks. It's what happens when you don't have actual class consciousness...but, here we are. #Merica
