If it wasn't for the fact that people being vaccinated (or not being vaccinated) having an effect not just on themselves but on others, I would 100% understand and perhaps even support those who choose not to get vaccinated - with something none of us know the long term effects of.

I never would have gotten this vaccine under normal circumstances. I don't get flu shots and I generally avoid medications of any type unless I can't function with out them. I do not trust Big Pharma more than I trust my own body. But I chose to get it so that I could do my part to help try to get our country back to normal.

It is useful/practical in the sense the individual is participating in Democracy by voting for the candidate they think fits best for the position.

like everyone else, i vote based on what i think is best for me.

I vote on what I think is best for me but also for the country.
If there is an extreme underdog with little/no chance of winning, but they fit my ideals far more than any other candidate, I will vote for them with no hesitation.
If there isn't a candidate at all that I can be on board with, and I can write someone in, I do that.
And if none of the above are options, I will choose to abstain from the vote.

In my local elections, I try to do research on the candidates before going in, so I'm informed.
If there's a vote for two candidates I didn't research/don't know anything about, I abstain from that vote, and don't just blindly vote my party.

I think the US would do well to change to ranked choice voting.

Also not sure how this has to do with COVID on the ground but here we are.

Every vote 'makes someone feel good' - and not one person's single vote has made a difference in a Presidential election.

When people voted for Hilary in 2016, the only purpose it served I guess, since she lost, was making that person/those people 'feel good'.

Additionally, by voting for a third party candidate, I can hope that more individuals would do the same, and that it would spur a change for a stronger third party/a third party system - instead of just saying, 'oh well, clearly I can only vote for these two.'

Speaking of Covid on the ground... I think I might have it. Two or three days of a sore throat, then today felt sicker than I could remember ever feeling - headache, fever, nausea, fatigue, and not sure if I'm imagining it or not, but some tightness in the chest. Nothing upper-respiratory, so doesn't seem like flu or cold. And the sore-throat warning indicates not food poisoning.

I had my first Pfizer and am supposed to get second Tuesday. Would already be fully vaccinated if I didn't have my J&J cancelled the day before I was supposed to get it because of the insanity of the CDC.

Thankfully wife is fully vaccinated. Not sure if there's a point in getting tested at this point.

Good luck MjI. As we discussed before, either vaccine may not have been able to prevent the infection if it indeed is). However, the fact that you had one shot is still a significant check in your favor, from it becoming a serious condition! Best wishes

I'm sure you know your body - but a possibility is also allergies - my bud has been struggling with all the blooming vegetation.
