Always was.
"Wait and see (until we are treaty-bound to send American servicemembers to die)" does not seem like an optimal approach.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 7:55 am US propaganda (feb 23, 2024):
Foreign Minister of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna said on Friday that the Russian President Vladimir Putin want to bring back lost colonies of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and want to occuply Poland and then Finland.
"Putin had an idea about a special operation for the six days. Instead of six days of special operation, what Putin planned, now we have like two years full scale war within all the horrible things. And it is not just a military conflict. We know that more than 20,000 kids has been deported to Russia. And all the awful things," he said.
"Putin has said already years ago, what is his plan. Restoration of imperium. So this is Russia wants to get back lost colonies. This is exactly what it is. And it didn't start, like two years ago. It started already with Georgia 2008. Georgia is partly occupied. And with Ukraine, it started 2014. And now it's a full scale war ongoing. And how we see from our perspective as a bordering country, and we were occupied 50 years from Soviet Union as well, is that Russia wants to get back the colonies. They want to get back as well. Baltic states, they want to get back Poland, they want to get back Finland and so on," he added...
why in the world would ANYONE believe that putin will stop now?
two things will stop him: 1) death, or 2) military might
https://x.com/jayinkyiv/status/17809720 ... q_-8Yt1KMAToday, Belgium announced two things.
- Discovered a network of Putin's goons bribing EU politicians
- Rushing F-16's to Ukraine in the next 40 days instead of in 2025.
Probably unrelated.
So you have no tangible reason for your beliefs other than that it fits your narrative. Got it.ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 6:12 pmAGAIN, the “Putin won’t stop there” is the same sort of bullshit rhetoric that turned out to be…well, bullshit.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 2:19 pmDo you have a legitimate reason to believe that Putin wouldn't stop there or are you just going with the "hey, that sounds like a slippery slope argument and I'm too smart to fall for those because I saw this meme once!"ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 2:02 pm Ok, time, twocoach. Despite your deflection of a response, I’ll bite:
YES, I think Putin would stop at Ukraine.
NO, I don’t think he would end up invading a NATO country too.
I say this not cuz I think Putin deserves any benefit of the doubt, but because that sort of “Putin won’t stop there” rhetoric is precisely the same bullshit our own government has deceived us with, over and over.
It’s like that famous anti-war dove peacenik George W. Bush said…

Again, remember domino theory?
Heck, remember WMDs in Iraq?
What credibility does the U.S. war machine have here?
And holy shit, that article. “If Putin wins in Ukraine, will he go further?” just asking questions. I’ll take neo-Cold War propaganda for 800, Alex.
There have been dozens of different statements and comments from people who are actually involved in these types of things that back my belief that Putin will be emboldened to continue his pursuit of additional territory and its resources.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 7:55 am US propaganda (feb 23, 2024):

But Ous has some buzz words he learned reading social media memes so we're probably all wrong.
It's an inverse slippery slope argument: because there have been some slopes that ended up NOT being slippery, no slope should be presumed slippery.twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 9:59 amSo you have no tangible reason for your beliefs other than that it fits your narrative. This is a critical thing, yes: one need not rely at all on what the US says about this, to form logical and supportable conclusions about what's happening here.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 10:26 amexactlytwocoach wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 10:02 amThere have been dozens of different statements and comments from people who are actually involved in these types of things that back my belief that Putin will be emboldened to continue his pursuit of additional territory and its resources.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 7:55 am US propaganda (feb 23, 2024):

i don’t need to listen to what anyone here in the US is saying to form my own view/opinion…i choose to listen to what those in the region are saying, and perhaps more importantly actually doing (looking at you, Finland and Sweden), while also remembering russia’s actual decisions since putin took power
Wrong!
So condescending and weirdly stated Ous. Like a lot of your posts lately.ousdahl wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 11:41 am Goddamnit you guys.
I was gonna just lay off this thread. I really was.
So, let me just say, the gaslight is burning bright today.
The truth is, I have plenty of tangible reasons for my beliefs. I don’t want this narrative to fit!
But, if I may say so as non-gaslighty as possible, and since fish already corroborated it, no amount of tangible reasons will suffice if you guys simply will not or cannot understand them.
In other words, I’m leading you horses to water. And not only are you not drinking, but you’re also acting like it’s my fault you’re thirsty.
But, fuck it, this is futile.
Imma just bring back the OG Qusdahl sock and spew shit like, “maybe we should just nuke Moscow!”
Cuz at this rate, I expect you guys to, genuinely and without irony, be like, “yea that sounds good let’s do it.”
Going with MICH's "I have a really good reason but you're not going to believe it anyways so I am not going to tell you what it is". Nice.ousdahl wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 11:41 am Goddamnit you guys.
