So by the numbers, one city will administer more tests in 10 days than all of Merica did in 2 months
I don't believe anything that comes out of China about this.
Ousie does.

And admires it.

But still won't move there.
The Chinese government is full of shit. Ok. And? I say numbers shmumbers.
Do people reading this feel the majority of the citizens in this country are smarter and more respectful of one another when it comes to dealing with taking care of ourselves during a pandemic than the majority of the people in China are?
I don't. I know, shame on me!

That we can't force 11 million to get tested whether they like it or not?

DC, do you mean to suggest that even if we did have more available tests, Mericans would refuse to be tested?

Do you think the level of testing is adequate?

What role do you see played by testing as part of the reopening?

I really do respect that you are very consistent, and principled, on how you approach personal liberties issues. I struggle a lot with how that works on the ground, though, where the bad decisions of a distinct minority can have such catastrophic consequences for everyone else.

I'm not sure there is, or even that there should be, a "right" answer. It does seem logical to me, though, for the choice to forgo testing or to behave badly to come with some cost.

A "public necessity" argument. Would likely have to show substantial need. Government may have an argument here.

Yes, perhaps. How about vaccinate them first, then let them file the 1983 claim.

Tests go to the people instead of vice versa.

Every aspect of it though. How many testing machines with what throughput. Who's doing the testing? When/how were they trained? What are the quality controls? This is done by mail, or people go out and administer the test?

I mean, NO other country has come close to something like this, and that's ignoring the timeframe.
