1. we lost a game on saturday that we were supposed to lose.

2. if the kids don't want to earn their minutes, they absolutely should move on. the grass is always greener.
I do not worry about transfers out at all. I don't recall any player leaving who we really missed and weren't overall better off without. Lots of recruits out there would like to play at Kansas for this coaching staff. It seems to work out just fine.

Different world now, though. Go back through people's favorite Jayhawks in the Bill era. I think a number of them (both Robinsons? Releford? one of Jackson/Kaun?) would have been very serious flight risks in a no-sit-out world.

Quentin Grimes was a biatch but he could have helped us - he got to be pretty good.
Could have used Andrew White in that tough 2015 season.
Carlton Bragg would have certainly helped off the bench in 2018.

then they are not beloved JAYHAWKS today. that will always have a home to come home to. for love and admiration and free drinks and free food and autographs and pats on the back and can i get a picture.

every single one of those dudes will tell you that coming to KANSAS(and sticking it out) is the single greatest decision they ever made.

it's only a different world if you make it one.

You still don't.
We missed shots.
We went 1-7 to close the game, down 2 points, with 4 minutes left, with the ball.

Ochai went 0-4 in that time period.

Defense has and will continue to be the biggest problem for this team.

Outside of Harris, it's hard to nitpick too much on an offense that Top 5 in the country.

We could maybe have survived a poor-shooting finish if we knew how to defend a small lineup...

You can't go 1-7 from the field against Baylor on the road with 4 minutes left, down 2, and expect to win.
We were very much in that game til the end.

Hell, it was a one possession game with 1:40 left.
Ochai could have made it a one possession game with 1:30 left but he missed an easy layup.
Then Akinjo burned Dejuan for the and one and that was that.

We aren't nitpicking the offense as a whole.
But Ochai just didn't close it out.

How many shots did Dave take in this time?

Had we gone small with potentially Wilson at the 5 as Bill suggested, that puts another SHOOTER ON THE FLOOR... Remy/JCL, etc.

I thought the problem was defense?
He ( Dave ) didn't take a shot.

Ochai took 4 of them ( missed them all ) and that's who you want taking the shots.
Jalen missed a wide open 3 after a pump fake.
Dejuan drove and got blocked by Thamba.

Also JCL and Remy are not good on defense.

1 FOOTED DAVE COULDN'T GUARD SOCHAN ON THE PERIMETER.

Hello???

Dave was on Thamba when Thamba was in.
Sochan hit 1 3 pointer.
Bill stressed how our guards did a terrible job of getting around screens - and Sochan's 3 point play in the final minutes ( not a foul really ) was a result of Braun doing just that ( or not doing just that ).

Thamba also had a career-night. You aren't helping your argument.

But KJ isn't ready to play in a game like that.
And Jalen wouldn't have been able to guard Thamba.
It's almost March.

It was a 2 point game with 4 minutes left.
Ochai went 0-4.
We went 1-7.

We lost to the now no. 3 team in the nation on the road in a very close game.
They have the 8th best overall adjO.
I doubt we're going to change that much because we lost @ Baylor.

Akinjo could have easily been called for an offensive foul on that drive as well. That off arm got quite a ways away from his body while extending into Juan's chest.
