every year i consider getting one
every year i balk, end up regretting it, but keep telling myself “at least i’m getting the exercise”
this year hasn’t been too bad (fingers crossed)
After my back finally went in the crapper 3 years ago, there is no chance I can ever remove all the snow from my driveway and sidewalks via shovel. Especially since we have moved and have a lot more driveway to deal with. I bought a 2 stage snowblower on sale for $800 a few months ago and it has already been the best use of money I have spent so far this year. I will never again go without a snowblower as long as I live where it's not uncommon to get 4-12 inches of wet snow in a single storm.
I spent a few years in Cleveland, that lake effect now is no fucking joke. Be safe, no need to have a damn heart attack in your driveway trying to save yourself some money.

I don't know if I would have ever got one either, but
the divorcée next door asked me one day if I wanted to go halves on one. I said I would and if she'd keep it in her garage, I'd maintain it. It was one of the best things I ever did. I bought a Honda 4-stroke and would change the oil and drain the gas tank at the end of every winter. I had it for 8-9(?) years, and I think it only failed to start on the first pull after sitting dormant for ~ 9 months, once. It was a amazing-every winter it became a thing to see if it would start on the first pull again, and it usually did.
There was an incline in our driveways and I had to get some of those chains, (they were actually springs), you put on the bottom of your boot, so I could make it back uphill. It was easy to be a "nice" guy and do the other driveways, and it was fun. I never regretted it.

Yeah, as soon as Pepper started posting about blowing it took a turn.
It transgressed in to....
"And I get to do a quarter of the neighborhood so everyone is happy".
I'm just sayin'

I love my single stage.
I probably should have a double but couldn’t afford it with all the purchases I made moving up here and I like having an excuse on a long snow day to go out there twice.
It can handle a foot at a time but not any more.
( there you go gutter )

A single stage goes faster too. Those double stages crawl around like snails. The guy across the street is still doing sidewalks and the time it takes me to do a long driveway.

Dang. Buffalo is getting beat up on this snow in the seats situation. The snow is going to be flying today. I’m watching ESPN and they showed a video of a family from Pittsburgh where the Parent is trailblazing through an aisle of seats that has had zero Snow Removal. I quote the talking head who said the snow is up to his dick.

Looking like that ticky tack penalty on Toney is going to send the Chiefs to Buffalo.

I remember when a bunch of pics like this were making the rounds. Bills fans seem to bring plenty of hand warmers.

Really weak personal foul on Pitt. Meanwhile the Buffalo crowd is throwing snowballs at receivers in the endzone.
