Not sure about the other elections but if I am not mistaken there isn't a Mayoral election in Minneapolis in 2020 nor is there a Gubernatorial election in 2020.
Yep, it's solely the Democrats fault for what's going on in this country tonight - and what has been going on in this country for hundreds of years.
As long as people believe that - this country will never change. How about we ALL work together and try to figure this out instead of blaming each other and it continuing forever? Hey - it was just a thought.
You know Kentucky has a Democratic governor, right?

If we're fortunate to have witnesses catch it on video from multiple angles.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 2:29 pmAt which point they cease to wear badges.twocoach wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 2:20 pmUntil the law breakers are wearing badges.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 1:22 pm
The division between law abiding and law -breaking individuals is an essential one, even when some people don’t like it.
Re: Dumbfuck in charge
If you say so. I have no opinion on it one way or the other.
I just think it's cute when people rail about the evils of prejudice by demonstrating their own.

OK.
Is it your contention, then, that the Police Department of the city of Minneapolis is in the habit of using excessive force against and killing black men? That this is endemic behavior among police in Minneapolis and that what happened to George Floyd is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg?

Bevin did not set the bar very high, but Bashear has turned out to be a great leader during the outbreak. It got him hanged in effigy in front of his kids. But I'm hoping that's a vocal minority. Hopefully, his leadership continues with the protests in Louisville.

So, you’re saying that people never get away with wrongdoing unless they are law enforcement officers?

I am saying exactly what I said; the fact that this specific incident, and others like it, being caught on video by multiple bystanders significantly raises the odds that the officer involved will be held responsible.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 4:22 pmOK.

No, I am saying that our current law enforcement system and the way it is structured gives law enforcement officers a unique opportunity to manipulate these incidents when they happen to ensure that the perpetrators do not face justice.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 4:29 pmSo, you’re saying that people never get away with wrongdoing unless they are law enforcement officers?
The abuse of that power given by the members of our society and the negative impact that breach of trust has on the affected communities makes this a critical issue in this country.

How would you fix "the system?"

Yeah, I know, DC, I worked for a guy who funded a whole unit of sexual abuse prosecutors, bought a house for interviews, paid for staff for it, unlike his ultra Catholic counterpart in the next county who colluded with the corrupt Bishops to cover up for a priest who shot porn photos with teenage boys in the rectory and kept 185 kiddie porn videos under his bed.
And that permanently screwed up your ability to lament that because American women no longer accepted the dictates of the bishops, our culture had become just decadent over the past 40 years.
OMFG indeed.

You replied to me and I'm the stalker...how well...listen to Feral, seek help.
But, because I lived during the Civil Rights era, I remember when the Catholic Church put its might behind challenging the racism that you've excused because it keeps the South Republican and that's all you care about. In fact, in the same county where the Bishops covered for the pedophile, a previous archbishop desegregated Catholic schools and hospitals and set that example long before the public institutions did so. He even excommunicated horrible old racists and segregationists for refusing to do support civil rights. Other priests and nuns were involved in the struggle to end the Jim Crow era and move forward.
The Church could still do that with trying to change police culture, but I'm afraid it's too dominated by men like you, interested only in retaining those racist voters.

It is a by product of improprieties being ignored...escalating each time.
It of course happens, and gets officially written off. At least, until hard evidence shows it to actually have occurred.
I have seen dozens of police officers throw handcuffed men down flights of stairs.
I have witnessed many dozens of arrests being made outside of Miranda or many other lawful practices.
I have seen, and testified against, sworn testimony that simply went against truth.
If you fall into the mind set that police are infallible....you are part of the problem......barely recognizable to the truth
