(RIP 2010-2011 Ducks college football season….I lived in Eugene at the time and, In anticipation of some mass st final four style party in the streets for the natty against Auburn and Cam “Certified Amateur” Newton, an old buddy from KS came to town. We went to the “barmuda triangle” entertainment district downtown, and couldn’t find a bar with more than a few crusty old townies around, let alone any vibrant watch party…bummer. In hindsight, think it was some combo of most students being gone on winter break, the drizzly 38-degree weather, and maybe Oregon just not being as good a sports school as they think)

This won’t go good for recruiting but he’s right:

https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... more-money

“Tell your agent to quit calling us and asking for more money. It's nonnegotiable now. Start again in December."

weird write-up

was it insinuating that the RB was trying to get more cash? or, was that bit completely unrelated to what gundy said?

I don't know why this would affect recruiting. I do think Diet Dabo here is gonna fuck off to Table Rock or something before too long.

Agents won't want to work with Gundy thus players won't want to play for Gundy.

I don't think we will see, for very much longer here, the head coach being the point of contact. At least as a norm.

Right.
We need GM's.
And contracts.
And salary caps.
And all the things only just a few years ago posters here said wouldn't happen.
