man, so I did the willow planting yesterday with vaccine symptoms about like a hangover - headache, drowsiness, kinda sore all over - but nothing awful. I've volunteered hungover before.

get back home and decide to take an afternoon nap. That became, completely out cold for 5 hours and wake up shivering, had to put on two sweatshirts and long johns to feel normal.

then this morning, wake up at my usual time, realize I got the day off, and zonk back out for another 3 hours. Now I...think I feel better? but still haven't even gotten out of bed either.

man, this is why I don't usually get a flu vaccine either. At this point in my life, I'd rather take my chances not even getting the flu or just having no or mild symptoms, than get the shot and know I'll be sick for 3 days for sure.

this one's different, I guess.

but from now on, if I gotta be this out of it, I'm just gonna go on a drug binge in Lincoln NE instead.

I was speaking with a high school student class of 2021. the university he will be attending in the fall requires all students be vaccinated prior to coming to campus. yet they do not require teachers and staff be vaccinated. i find that interesting.

Doesn't make sense. Staff should be vaccinated as well.

Id be curious to dissect fish’s comment about “in bad faith or as a matter of faith” but that might be for another thread

Ultimately, it's impossible to tell whether someone using religious beliefs as a justification for something is doing so out of legitimate, bona fide belief ("as a matter of faith"), or is doing so because the very claim of religious belief is sort of immune from counterattack ("in bad faith").

re: came from a lab

the available evidence overwhelmingly supports this being a “natural” zoonotic crossover event (and there have been a number of less publicized cases recently of canine coronaviruses jumping to people)

that’s not to say that it couldn’t have been covered up to make it look that way, but as has been said, without china’s full cooperation there’s no way to investigate fully

If getting the Covid vaccine is a "medical decision" then so is getting the flu shot, or taking ibuprofen or icing a sore ankle.

It's a health decision, not a medical decision.

And, either way, we can't let wackjob adults like MICH and Lobby prevent young people from making sound heath decisions.

Agreed. If you can have it done at the grocery store then it's a health decision, not a medical decision.

Parental consent is required for the flu shot in 42 states.

Cant buy advil under 16.

Either way. Taking a new vaccine working on emergency authorization is a medical decision.

In Oregon, people 15 and older can get a flu shot without parental consent. Maybe you can't purchase certain OTC medicine under the age of 16 but it's not illegal to take them.

Like many things, I think it should be up to the state to decide.

A lot of evidence lately for the accidental lab escape; including today where they mentioned that three technicians were sickened in November 2019 with COVID symptoms. Knowing they were actively studying and fortifying the Cave Bat viruses since 2012 makes me think the lab is the likely source. If so it makes us all semi-responsible because we funded and allowed this kind of activity before deciding gain of function was a bridge too far.

Didn’t Merica have boots on the ground in the Chinese labs for the longest time?

You have a chip factory in your house? What product are you posting from? Or does your challenge have a grandfather clause?

When did you begin your challenge?
While highly doubtful, maybe YOU haven't "purchased" a product made in China in the past year but I'll bet you $100 that you have used a "product" from China in the past year.
