Re: Da Weed Thread
stupid south dakota
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Da Weed Thread
So Kansans and Arkansans will be making trips to Mizzou.
Kinda like we did when in college and alcohol sales were banned on Sundays.

Re: Da Weed Thread
so will I70 thru KS have the bogus "drug dog checkpoint" signs going both directions now?
Re: Da Weed Thread
I've seen those signs. Always right before an exit. I assume anyone taking the exit gets searched.
Defense. Rebounds.
Re: Da Weed Thread
yea. We discussed it here before, but it might've been years ago, cuz I kinda feel like Hawklin was part of the chat.
A law school friend intentionally got off on one of those exits. Promptly gets pulled over and questioned. Without batting an eye, he takes the cop to school on constitutional law, which is the whole point of why he got off. Dude was totally right, apparently, but I personally would prefer to not poke the bear.

I imagine westbound Shawnee Mission Parkway in Fairway will soon just be a parking lot full of pulled over vehicles with KS plates.
What a dumb world: drive 1/4 mile to QT in KS to place a sports bet, drive 1/4 mile back to buy a gummy.
Re: Da Weed Thread
Cops give a shit about weed still?
They don't seem to harass out of state people around the IL dispensaries.

Re: Da Weed Thread
I wonder what critical mass of JoCo Bros going to jail for MO weed will it take to just get that shit on the ballot in KS too...

I've deposed KS cops that believe some truly bizarre shit about weed. e.g. being able to tell if someone is high at the time based on oral exam, marijuana has a propensity to make someone murder-y, etc. They're being fed this shit somewhere.

I think illy's confused about which side of "out of state" is the problem.

he got pulled over and the (Olathe) cop accuses him of being high. Gives him a field sobriety test, which he passes. Cop then tells him to open his mouth - shines a flashlight down and says he sees pieces of green in his throat. Searches the car and finds a joint.
As if the story could get any goofier, apparently he didn't arrest him that night, but knocked on his front door like 2 months later and cuffed him for it.
all allegedly, of course.
Re: Da Weed Thread
I was looking for Spring Creek in the Ozarks one weekend, a buddy and I had a plan to sneak onto John Ashcroft's property and fish his private wild trout stream. Just before we get to that exit on I-44 we see a sign about drug stops. We pull off anyway. We were on a subversive mission already, this could be good practice for what we might deal with later. As I get to the end of the off ramp 6 DEA agents come out of the trees and the ditch pointing rifles at me. I started laughing when the head honcho started asking what I was doing there. I am looking for John Ashcroft's farm so I can trespass on private property. It's a thing down here. He wanted to know if he could look in my Jeep Cherokee. Look through the windows all your want, you can see my fly rods and tackle bag right there. He wanted to know if the truck behind me was with me. It popped into my mind for just a second to fuck with Tom but instead I told them, Yeah that is my friend from Tulsa, he is following me cuz I know where I am going. Guns were dropped into a relaxed position and they waved us through. I smiled and waved to everyone.ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 8:50 am yea. It's a good morning here in Missouri. Tax money from KS is about to start trickling into KCMO.

I'm not up to date on the criminal side of this stuff, but I believe that it is still hard to prove influence at the time of driving, so the goal would then be to drum up some bullshit probable cause for search and nab the driver on possession.ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 9:20 amoral exam...you my brother's friend's counsel?CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 9:14 amKansas, man.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 9:09 am Cops give a shit about weed still?

But, it's been decriminalized in so many municipalities and counties that I would hope those ridiculous practices are becoming more rare.
Re: Da Weed Thread
when and where they can, cops still gonna cop.
I imagine that for pretty much everywhere weed IS still legal, enforcement is still draconian as ever.
heck, weed is legal as F here but still just saw cops raid a bar patio cuz they smelled something funny.
I know it's technically not legal to smoke in public, but come on, it's the middle of the night on a bar patio with people smoking anyway, who cares. I mean of all the things to be putting law enforcement resources toward...

Police don't seem to care up here.
