I like when people try to be Footy Guy and end up killing their argument with their own argument.

The real mistake is ever getting invested as a fan in USMNT. Kind over that shit after last night. Maybe when I'm watching good soccer in summer 2026, the US might be on a secondary channel.

I don't think there's anyway that Berhalter is the manager of this team when WC Qualifying starts happening.
Klinsmann should have stayed. US reacted to a week of soccer with Klinsmann. Berhalter has had a bad year of soccer. Time to make a move.
We're like 10 months from the start of the Hex for WC qualifying. Make the move now.

Considering Jay Berhalter is one of the highest ranking USA Soccer suits, I think we're stuck with Gregg for longer than you think.
Gregg is kind of like Vermes in that he prefers a tiki taka game a la the Spaniards. Play out of back and possession is the game. That style, however, doesn't work when you have a bunch of young guys that have grown up playing/learning in the more power-based US system where being strong and smashing balls deep rules. So guys like Sargeant and Pulisic can have success in the Bundes but are worthless in this system of play. So Berhalter either needs to abandon the Barca style strategy or wait a few more years until the generation that is learning and developing this way in the US is ready. problem is...we dont have that kind of time.
Klinsy would be great with the current crop of guys in the player pool. Young studs that just mash and kill it in the higher scoring leagues like Bundes and the Eredivisie. Problem is he didnt have those guys at his disposal. So it seems a little like a timing issue, but yeah...we suck.
I mean as long as we're still trotting out old retreads like Bradley out there and hoping that Yedlin will ever be anything and living in the glory of the one game Jordan Morris shined in....we expect these sort of results.

As exciting as much of the season was offensively, it’s a shame MLS Cup is so far decided by an own goal.

KU beat Iowa. Play Xavier in South Carolina to make soccer's version of Sweet 16. Could then play South Carolina in Columbia to make the Elite 8.
