Far-Right Activists Charged Over Robocalls That Allegedly Targeted Minority Voters

The robocalls came from a nonexistent group called the "1599 project" and falsely warned recipients that voting by mail would result in being "finessed into giving your private information to the man."

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said in a press release that the calls were made in August to almost 12,000 residents with phone numbers from the 313 area code that covers Detroit. An investigation found that attorneys general in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois received complaints about similar phone calls being placed to cities with large minority populations.

In the calls, the robocaller told recipients to "beware of vote by mail" and falsely said that doing so would feed personal information into a database accessible to the police pursuing warrants, credit card companies collecting debts and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention aiming to track people for mandatory vaccines.

I haven't seen the snapchat videos, only the quotes in this article and the snopes fact checker. I am sure more will continue coming out (or not). Just figured i would share it since QAnon emailed it to me (sarcasm)...

Yes, actually it does.

Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said in a statement that officers will “remain apolitical” in their service.

Like other departments, MPD has spent weeks preparing for potential unrest or voter intimidation. Days off have been canceled around Election Day, and all officers are expected to be required to be in full uniform and ready to don riot gear in the event of violence.


Just more undeserving vilification of the police because that is the trendy thing to do.

If going on war footing is necessary at, like 11am on a Tuesday, it's because far right groups are planning to exercise their second amendment rights by standing around with long guns.

There is no credible reason otherwise to expect there to be BLM-type protests that turn into riots at 11am on a Tuesday.

I do not think the police will do what your article alleges citizens have been allowed to do....although it is unclear how often that is actually occuring.

My hope is that the police make the polling places safer from people trying to suppress voters.

Time will tell.

I think it sort of seems like the dem media is trying to tee the ball up so they can make the election seem illegitimate if trump wins (similar to trump acting like widespread mail in voting fraud occurs even though there is no evidence that happens on a large scale significant enough to impact election results). They want some possible excuses/explanations for why many black people won't/don't show up and vote for Biden. Rather than looking at the problematic things he has said about black people in the past as the possible/main reason for that low turnout.

Disclaimer: i am not saying there will be low turnout by black people for Biden. Tbh i expect it to be greater than the turnout for Hillary....but understandably far less than the turnout for Obama. For black people and far left young voters Biden was not the best choice for the Dems (again).

Read the Star Tribune article and try to comprehend.

They weren't asking for security at the polling places, they already have active duty police for that who are sworn to be bipartisan. It was a partisan Republican call.They were looking specifically for "poll challengers" in the email, that was the ask. And they want retired officers to go into "rough neighborhoods". I doubt that means Eden Prairie.

We've got more left wing conspiracy shit on here than i can stomach, and i just voted for Biden (and haven't voted for a republican presidential candidate since i have been old enough to vote)!

-Trump's 3rd term...which is ironic since a week ago everyone here except 1 person was positive he wouldn't even win a 2nd term.
-Supreme Court justice retiring so trump pays back the financial institution his son works for....rather than being in his 80s being a pretty obvious reason for his retirement.

The list goes on....


If you can prove to me that what you are alleging is a serious problem that is actually occuring on a large scale then i will gladly join in your outrage since i would NEVER agree with what you are alleging is happening to voters.

Until then, i will assume the actual incidents of this occuring are few and far between/rare....just like the post office guy in my area who was throwing mail in ballots in dumpsters recently.
