You know (knocks on wood)...it's somewhat surprising we haven't seen people start falling over dead yet.

We're still pretty early on in the proceedings. Until someone brings real dirt on Russia...

Well, Sondland's about to have to choose between jumping ship and a jumpsuit. I'd bet a good amount of money he's pretty furiously working on a deal as we speak.
All coming out of what he thought was the purchase of a cushy ambassadorship.

Who complained about it being behind closed doors? It's SOP when there is a possibility of discussing classified info.

Democrats complained about the Benghazi investigation the EXACT same ways Trumpers complain about the Russia and now Ukraine investigations.
"Witch Hunts" is all we've heard for over half a decade. For non-partisans it's been fucking EXHAUSTING.
Democrats and Republicans are both a total mess right now. Hard to trust the words/intentions of anyone who isn't firmly in the middle.

And moving the goalpost is your MO still. You're impossible. Next time you run away keep the same name so I don't have to keep re-ignoring you.

And FTR, I did complain about the Russia investigation. Ukraine is not the same. But of course your simple mind just lumps everything together.

...The former New York mayor brought up Gulen so frequently with Trump during visits to the White House that one former official described the subject as Giuliani’s “hobby horse.” He was so focused on the issue — “it was all Gulen,” recalled a second former official — that White House aides worried that Giuliani was making the case on behalf of the Turkish government, former officials said.
“We’re not going to arrest [Gulen] to do a solid for Erdogan,” the second official said, describing the internal thinking.
...It’s unclear why Giuliani was championing a cause of such high importance to Erdogan — one the Turkish president personally raised with both the Obama administration and Trump. In 2017, Giuliani unsuccessfully pressed then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to help on another matter important to Erdogan: helping stop the U.S. prosecution of a Turkish Iranian trader, The Washington Post reported last week.
Giuliani is not registered as a foreign lobbyist, as he would be required to do if he were being paid to lobby the U.S. government on a policy matter for a foreign interest.

with one big difference being, Cankles actually cooperated with the investigations.

Not to mention that in the case of the republican-led Benghazi hearings, democrats were arguing the facts. Most of what you hear now from republicans is not about the facts, because they don't want to have that discussion, but about the process. Every witness in the Benghazi hearings was interviewed behind closed doors, except Hillary. She showed up and sat there for 11 hours. What a bunch of cowards republicans are, when the shoe is on the other foot. And now republicans whine and whine about the impeachment hearings not being public? Sure.
And excuse us if we don't buy your lack of compliance with subpoenas because the House hasn't held a vote that isn't mentioned anywhere in the constitution. Suspects in investigations don't get to make the rules for the prosecution. Blatant hypocrisy and obstruction of justice. Because, as anyone can see, Trump has committed high crimes and misdemeanors, and you know it.

The Senate majority leader told Republicans he hoped to wrap up any impeachment trial for Trump by the end of the year.
Which is to say, in time for the Iowa caucuses, if necessary.

Sorry, not getting the underlying point. Are you saying it is so the Republicans would have time to partake in the caucuses if he gets removed from office?

Actually, the caucuses will take place no matter what happens. My quip -- somewhat in jest (but somewhat not) -- was to mean that a trial and verdict before Christmas would allow actual Republican candidates, in addition to the jagoffs currently running, to make a few trips to Des Moines -- "if necessary."
